So why are you reading them? :)

Unless you're going to eat the packaging then I'd think 1/10th of the package = 1/10th of the cake.

Wow, that's...different. I was always told to avoid dairy, that it would make it worse.

Wow, you just described me to a T. Sucks, doesn't it? I have an old albuterol inhaler that I take when it gets really bad, but I hate to do so because of "the shakes" it gives me afterward. I was diagnosed with severe asthma when I was little, and the doctor advised my parents that if we were out and about and I was having…

As someone from the US I'd have to disagree about the herb use. I don't know how much you use it there, but we use it here plenty... it just all depends on where you go. Fast food isn't going to use so much - but I can guarantee you a sit down restaurant is going to, lest they go un-patronized for having bland food. (I ate…

Strange.. I don't know why 2 tablespoons would work to such a large amount of liquid, but not work for me. I went ahead and tried making the pudding again last night, only I made it with the proportions the bag recommended and used 1 cup of milk and 1/4 cup of seeds, and *that* made a nice thick pudding.

Well any Google search on "Chia Seed Health Benefits" will give you a number of website with information, but in a nutshell... They're high in: Omega-3, Complete Protein, Antioxidants, Vitamin B, and Minerals. They're low in: Calories, Gluten-Free When eaten on a regular basis they can: Aid in regularity of the bowels,…

I looked down at my legs and realized I can noticeably see the difference in how much smaller my legs have gotten. They swelled up huge and gave me "cankles" and at one point there was almost no discernible difference between the size of the largest area of my calves and the size of my leg slightly above my ankles. I'm…

Well, I guess it depends on your definition of low fat, and where you're from if it's even available.. but that being said, I'm a big fan of Ken's Steakhouse brand "Lite Northern Italian with Basil & Romano" and "Greek with Feta Cheese, Black Olives, and Imported Olive Oil". Lite Northern Italian with Basil & Romano…

Huh, I guess I'm the odd duck. I like to -and expect to- go halfsies from the get-go. I don't expect anyone to pay for me, and I don't expect to pay for them - though if they insist on paying I'm not going to say no. I only offer to pay for them if I can afford to do so and feel like doing a nice gesture. With some people…

Wow, I hadn't seen those before but those look really neat. For someone who doesn't like the bulk of tennis shoes for normal use and lives barefoot or flip-flopped, If I had the ankles/legs/feet for those I'd totally wear them with some khaki capri pants.. they look fun! A little steep on the price tag, but fun. I'd…

I thought of another one.. when I'm in a pop mood, The Black Eyed Peas - "I Gotta Feeling" is one that makes me want to dance.

I see nothing wrong with a lower back tattoo, or just about any tattoo placement. Do I think some tattoos are tacky? Sure. Can a well done tattoo that holds meaning to someone be a beautiful thing? Absolutely. I've known several people with some incredibly personal tattoo work done, and I would never EVER look down on them…

Okay, then I guess the answer is "over it"... because if I hold the tape measure there it's going to go across my lower belly paunch/pouch/whatever-you-call-it. What about for "Waist - Minimum Girth"? I don't really *have* a "smallest part of" of my stomach unless you're measuring directly under my breasts or in the crease…
-
The part I'm really not sure on is the hips - it may sound like a stupid question, but do you measure over the lower belly pouch, or under it? That makes quite a big difference. Also, after some sleep and not looking at this thing at 4 in the morning, I just realized I had accidentally left some calculations in the yellow…

About a month-ish. I was tired of looking at my old one with the super-heavy face.. since I've lost some weight my face has gotten smaller, so it was time to update!

I got mine for $10 on Amazon.com - it's a really nice one. It's black with a tempered glass platform, it holds up to 11lbs, auto-shuts off after 3 minutes, and can weigh in a bunch of different measurements. It only took me so long to get one because I thought they'd be expensive - boy was I wrong!
-
AHA! Thank you, I think I FINALLY fully get it. It's only taken a couple months. ;) I recently started telling my mom about this site and some of the things I'm doing to lose weight, about keeping the daily food and exercise journal and whatnot, and she seems interested - so now I should be able to help her calculate her…

I'm amused at the translation on the names of related articles. Specifically: "BOOM! 21 awesome quotes that pepper you" What if I don't want to be peppered? Can I be salted instead? Or maybe sugared?

I remember my mother educating me on what a "chubby chaser" was when I was a teenager. I had never heard the term before and was shocked that it was anything anyone would actively pursue. Later on down the road if she ever had a man compliment her or act interested she always made comments about how he's "probably just a…

I make 3, 2, 1 cake. I think I found the recipe in one of the forums here on MFP. You take 2 cake mixes - one has to be angel food cake mix, and the other is your choice. You combine the two mixes and mix well before putting it in a storage container. Then whenever you want a little something sweet, you mix 3 tablespoons…

That may be accurate for other forums, but here it means something different. Here it's used when you want to sort of "bookmark" something to come back and read later. If you post in the thread at all, it gets added to "My Topics", where you can find it later.

Mmm, any excuse to eat some mashed potatoes is a fine idea. I'm afraid potatoes are definitely one of my weaknesses - like the hobbits say "Boil em, mash em, stick them in a stew.." I like the way you write up directions.
