So inspired by all of you!! Bumping for my friends list to share in this :)

I started as the program tells you and the 30 seconds felt like it would kill me. I completed the program in the 8 weeks and was able to run the 30 minutes but not the full 3.1. I think it took me another month and a half or so to get to the full 3.1. I am super slow, 15 minute miles. Now I still run 2 miles 3-4 times per…

Me too. Every single time I feel like I accomplished something and I feel POWERFUL!! I'm not sure what it is, maybe the fact that I didn't really think I could do it. I am so proud to be a runner :)

You look lovely in the pic, nothing to be ashamed about there!!!

Chicken parm with too many breadsticks :)

Every runner started where you are now. Great job running a mile! Let your body decide what to do. I believe most runners would advise building up a base before you increase your distance/pace. Get comfortable running that mile regularly and then increase slowly. Welcome to the club!!!

I pack string cheese, fruit cups, cut up cucumbers, hardboiled eggs and SF pudding cups in my lunch bag. I also keep walnuts microwave popcorn and fiber one bars in my desk to ensure I don't go to the vending machine.

I can't tell you how many times I was in your exact situation. The difference for me this time and the reason it is working is because I just keep going, even when I have a terrible day (or two or three or four). Every day I wake up and try to do better then the day before. Each meal I try to make a better choice then the…

Awesome!!

Oh yes I remember W5D3. You will feel so awesome when you have completed it. I would describe it as feeling powerful!!! Don't let your head convince you that you can't because YOU CAN!!!! Let us know how it goes!!!

I think that everyone is looking for something different out of this site/friends. Personally I will read the person's profile first to see if we have anything in common and if we do or I like something that they have said I will accept. I don't expect my friends to be totally focused on me but random comments of…

bump. New runner here and winter is coming.

It sounds terrible. I sweat buckets as it is I certainly don't want to wear anything that will make me sweat more. Sounds like some crap to get naïve people to spend their money on a "quick fix."

I'm 60lbs down and have lost 1/2 to a full size in shoes and a full ring size. I wish I had lost it elsewhere but again you don't get to choose where it comes from.

5'1" and eat 1800-2200 depending on workouts and losing steadily.

bump. I told myself that once the cooler weather got here I would move my runs outside but I'm actually nervous to do so.

I know you want to celebrate when you are with your fiancée and I say go for it. Maybe try to cut down just a bit though so that your weight loss continues. My husband and I love to eat out here's an example of how I have cut down. At Outback we get cheesy fries (yum) still get them, We used to eat like 3-4 loaves of bread…

Great job running for 20 minutes straight. I have been where you are so I know very well the thrill that comes with this. I am also very proud of you for choosing to go ahead and run despite the terrible day you were having when it would have been easier to just sit on the couch and feel miserable. That in itself is an…

Sausage is exactly right. Keep in mind that if you use method two (including your exercise) you need to be consistent with what you said your exercise routine is or your numbers will not be right. So if you said that you exercise six days a week and one week you won't be able to do all six days you will have to go in and…

It sounds to me like you are in a great place to take the next step. The fact that you don't let yourself give up the logging when you go over on calories shows that you are ready to do this. Take small steps by adding a short walk a few times a week or eating a little less each meal. Start somewhere. Anywhere really.…

Love this post. I too often see people out walking, running or biking and can tell that they are either just beginning or are really struggling with their workout and I just want to run up and hug them. That would probably be a bit awkward though so I resist. When you have been in their shoes it is so easy to see how…

Great job and it looks like a lot more than 34lbs. Every pound lost is a success so embrace it and shout it from the mountaintops!!
-
Congratulations! You both look great and you look so happy :) Keep up the great work!

That is awesome. Congratulations!!! I am three pounds away myself and am about bursting with excitement. I am sure I will probably do some crazy happy dance when I get there :) Keep up the great work :)

I save most of my calories for dinner so I can enjoy a nice big meal with my husband.

I agree with baby steps. I started just walking for 15 minutes and eight months later I am running. I started drinking 1 cup of water a day and cutting down on pop and now I drink 14 cups of water a day and rarely have any pop at all. Make very gradual changes. Start by figuring out what a serving size is and try eating…

I'm glad you chimed in with this because I was starting to panic at the thought that I would be totally starting over. I can breathe again.
