Finally did it!
Yesterday I ran for a full three miles. It took me 45 minutes but I did it. I started C25k in April and had not run at all since High School sports 20 years ago and even then I was never a runner. I did not think that I would be able to run when I started but I successfully completed the program which was to run 30 minutes…
TDEE-20% and Moderate Exercise Clarification
So I just switched to this method and just want to clarify. The number of calories that I am given is the amount that I am supposed to actually eat and then I don't eat back any exercise calories right? Example 1900 calories allotted Exercise burns 500 calories I still eat 1900 and that won't put me into "starvation mode"…
So, I hear that abs are made in the kitchen
I keep reading that abs are made in the kitchen. Other than keeping a calorie deficit, what does this really mean? Are there certain foods that should be avoided or other foods that you must eat?
Running Shoe Advice
I just bought my first pair of "real" running shoes. Had my gait analyzed and the works. Spent $120 on the shoes and went online to see if I could find them cheaper. I did and was wondering if anyone had any experience with either of these sites/company's. Just want to make sure they are legit before I order. Kelly's…
Fuel for running
I am a new runner, can currently run for 28 minutes straight. During my runs I am able to breathe fine but my legs get really tired and I push through it to complete but it is really becoming a struggle. I run right after work before I eat dinner so I am wondering what the best fuel is to get me and my tired legs through…
Do the balls of your feet get hot?
I am on Week 5 of C25K and I have noticed that the longer I jog the hotter the balls of my feet get and it is uncomfortable. Does this happen to anyone else? If so how do you deal with it?
Please help me to know I'm not crazy.
I am 5 feet 1 inch and weigh 224lbs and 36 years old. MFP has me at 1200 calories which has been working as I have lost 36lbs on it. I feel like maybe it is time to look into the TDEE-20% method as my weight loss has slowed/stalled. I have a desk job but I exercise (moderately) 6 times per week for about an hour each time.…
For a while now I've been telling myself that when I get to 220lbs I would start the C25K program. I don't know why I had it in my head that 220 was the weight I had to be before starting. I've been reading so many stories of people who started running who weighed more than 220 so I've been psyching myself up and today, at…
