TDEE-20% and Moderate Exercise Clarification

So I just switched to this method and just want to clarify. The number of calories that I am given is the amount that I am supposed to actually eat and then I don't eat back any exercise calories right?
Example 1900 calories allotted
Exercise burns 500 calories
I still eat 1900 and that won't put me into "starvation mode" because my exercise is already figured in.
Also, what is considered moderate activity? I exercise 5-6 days per week for at least an hour sometimes closer to an hour and a half. This includes 6 miles of jogging per week. Would this fall into the moderate activity category?
I guess I just need some reassurance that my brain fully understands this

this method relies largely on the law of averages, so no, you don't eat back exercise calories. You eat the same amount every day. Just make sure that you keep exercising as much as you say you will when you calculate your TDEE!
As far as "moderate activity", it all depends on how hard you work out during those workouts and what else you do during the day. Since you are switching to this method, I would assume that you already have some activity and intake data. If you have been logging things accurately, you can look back in your logs and see what your calorie burn has been for the last month, how many calories you ate, and what your weight loss was and calculate your TDEE for the month...0 -

Yes the allotted number is TDEE-20%.
I work a desk job but I consistently exercise 5-6 days per week for an hour to an hour and a half. I would say that I'm putting forth a lot of effort (of course I probably could put forth a little more ) I typically burn 500 calories M-F and maybe half that on the weekend day. I sometimes do more but never less.0 -
