  • I wish there was alike button for this!!! Thanks for sharing :)
  • First, great job deciding to take this step to getting healthier!!! Anything you do to move beyond what you are currently doing will be beneficial. When I first started I was just walking on the treadmill for 15 min a day and gradually built up my time, speed and incline. Oh and I have to agree with the other poster about…
  • My husband does the same!!! When it is pouring rain and we run to the car I have to tell him to go ahead and get in his side or he would stand there and get soaked to let me in first.
  • When I first started on my journey to better fitness I started with 15 minutes daily on the treadmill. I gradually increased my time, speed and incline. Whatever gets you moving is a good thing. FYI, I started running when I was 230lbs so you really can run at any weight (barring any medical/physical issues).
  • When I walk on the treadmill I like to read books on my kindle. The time truly flies as I get lost in whatever I am reading. Many times I end up doing a super long workout just because I'm not ready to finish reading yet :) Whatever keeps you moving, right!!!
  • Sounds like you already made the best decision for your health by getting rid of someone who wasn't supportive. I'm pretty sure that someone who would tease you for working out does not have your best interest at heart. You don't need "some guy" in your life. Don't ever settle for less than you deserve. OK lecture over :)…
  • I don't know how helpful this is but I'll share what I did. I use TDEE-20% so I ate my normal amount but cut down on my running while doing the shred. Honestly the shred was awesome for firming up and losing inches (I lost 12 inches) but I don't think it burns much more than a couple hundred calories. Have fun, you will…
  • LOL. Yes they still count. I would not mind going down to a smaller cup size but unfortunately they just look deflated now :(
  • I'm not small chested but after losing so much weight I'm headed in that direction. My girls are now a deflated version of themself. It's not good, not good at all :( I used to compare them to water balloons and now well I don't really know what to compare them to.
  • I bought a Proform, can't remember which model, from Sears for about $400.00. I also bought the extended warranty for $150ish that is good for 3-5 years (can't remember) This warranty includes them coming out each year to do a maintenance check and covers any replacements parts/service. I use it to walk and run. I have not…
  • I like to snack on cucumber slices!! They are low calorie, taste yummy and due to the water content they actually fill you up. String cheese and hardboiled eggs are low calorie snacks that will provide a little mid afternoon boost!!
  • I hear your pain. I was the biggest diet pepsi addict (I know it has no calories but it also causes bloating and has no nutritional value whatsoever) It took me three months to give it up. I am now at the point where I will drink it when we go to a restaurant or in a mixed drink but that is it. My craving for it has really…
  • I have an iPhone 4 and the fitbit flex does sort of sync to it. Not throughout the day but once I sync flex with computer it updates my phone so when I am in my house my phone stays synced. It isn't helpful if you want to check it throughout the day but I don't monitor it that closely because I can look at the display on…
  • You need to be able to get down in push up position and a couple feet on either side so if you have that much room you should be good. It is a great workout. You may not lose a lot of weight but you will lose lots of inches!! Do what you can, she shows some modified moves if you need them. My advice: if you can't do the…
  • I would go with a sub. It will fill you up and be less calories then any of the other options.
  • Quick but challenging is 30 Day Shred, you will be much stronger and lose inches. Running is also great because it doesn't take any equipment (other than shoes) and you can run for as long or as short of a time as you have.
  • I am only 5' and started running when I was 230lbs. I had never been a runner and did not think I could even do it. I used a C25K app and thought I was going to die just running for 30seconds. Each week I thought for sure I would not be able to progress but each week I surprised myself. I now regularly run an "easy" 5K. I…
  • OMG, step away from the B & J. Seriously there are sooooooooo many calories in that stuff. And the container is like four servings or something. I remember the days of eating a whole thing at one time. That's one reason I gained the weight. Step Away!!!! Have yourself a nice bowl of plain ice cream with a little chocolate…
  • I am 36 and married but do not have children, nor do I want any. I have 5 nieces and nephews with two more nieces on the way. I love being an auntie! Making friends is not easy and gets more difficult the older we get as there are not as many opportunities to meet people. You don't sound pathetic at all, it is human nature…
  • I've lost an Irish Setter and a guinea pig!!! I still have to lose an average human :)
  • You did not gain 20lbs overnight. I promise :) Get a new scale!
  • My niece!! When my sister had a baby I just knew that I had to get myself into shape in order to keep up with her. I also wanted to be an auntie that she would not be ashamed of. Now both my sisters are pregnant and I am expecting two more nieces. I will definately be keeping up with all of them and they will be proud of…
  • Love it!! Congratulations :) I remember walking past Lane Bryant over the summer and actually saying out loud to the store "I don't have to shop here anymore." It is an awesome feeling not to need a specialty store in order to buy clothes that fit. Oh and those specialty stores are never as stylish as the regular stores.…

  • Sodium kicks my butt every time. I can easily see a scale gain of 2-3lbs which can last 2-3 days when I overdo it. I wouldn't worry, it's just water. Try to drink more water and maybe monitor sodium a little better to avoid the freak out!!!
  • I like greasy stuff but sometimes I will get a slice of pizza that is too oily and yes I have dabbed the excess off. I don't think that is weird at all. If that is what you have to do to make the food more appetizing then you go right ahead and dab.
  • I wasn't running the full 5K when I finished the program. It probably took me another month to get there but I also wasn't pushing myself to be ready for a race. If you want to get there I'm sure you will!!! The excitement of the race itself will also give you an extra push that day :) Have fun :)
