  • I read this on a Facebook post. "You are a tiger who earned her stripes." Your post is an inspiration to me? Thanks
  • True, but you know how some say women shouldn't wear mini skirts after a certain age? Well, I guess it's kinda like that type of question.
  • Yeah, that's why I asked. I am 44. Looks like we need NOT worry.
  • Awesome, I can totally relate!
  • Now that is funny! You can lose, but you must be patient. I am at 20 lbs and I have been working at it for several months. Sometimes I lose 2 lbs and sometimes I lose less than 1 lbs. Sometimes I cheat, but I don't give up.
  • Why not just eat foods high in protien? Those powders produce such a high blast of protien that it is hard for your kidneys to process it all. At least that's what my husband's nephrologist told him when he found out that his kidneys weren't functioning at 100%
  • I have been doing 1200 cals. I'm 44, 5'5" and walk for exercise. I eat 5 times a day and haven't had any issues. I have been doing this for a few months.
  • I don't know who said this, but before you eat think, "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels." The other thing I do is weird, but it works for me  When I want something, I start thinking like I already had it and want more. For example, when I want a cookie, I ask myself, "Well, how would you handle this craving if…

  • I eat 1/4 of the slow cooking steel cut with almond slivers. I usually put it in a slow cooker and let it cook all night. I also like the Bob's Red Mill extra thick rolled oats. If I use the quick-cooking oats or instant oats, I am not satisfied for as long. I also plan a snack of around 100 calories 3-4 hours after I have…
  • Most experts/researchers suggest not using diet aids. Just be patient and stick to your calories. You will lose the weight and be able to maintain the loss a lot easier. The pills suppress your appetite, so you do not learn to control your cravings.

  • This is what I do too. I eat 5 times a day: breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner. I have a boring sit down job that allows me sit and eat all day if I choose, so I have to be very careful. I also keep a bowl of fruit on my desk. When I feel strees or start thinking about the snack machine, I grab a piece of fruit.
  • It seems like we are our own worst critics. I have skinny legs and hips with a plump belly and small breasts. I am in my mid 40's now, but when I was younger and would lose enough weight to reduce my plump belly, people would tell me that I looked too skinny.
  • Hey, I didn't see the fat then and I don't see the skinny now
  • What? You posted that you were a troll and people were mean to you? Mean like, "get a grip"?

  • Very true. It seems like the same issue, but perhaps psychology behind the two differ greatly.
  • Eat 5-6 times a day. Make three meals around 400 cals each and the three snacks around 200 cals each. You are no different than me who consumes too many calories and needs to lose weight. I eat too much, so I put myself on a schedule. I eat breakfast at 6:00 am, a snack around 10:00, lunch at 1:00, and a snack at 4:00 and…
  • Yeah! I had to stop drinking beer every day. The weekends are fair game. I shouldn't, but I don't eat as much on weekends because I know I am going to drink beer. I've found lean protiens and low carbs work for me.
  • I agree with this too. It is a lifestyle change. Is it a need or a want? Do you want to eat because you have pains from hunger or are you just grazing. I eat 5-6 times a day. I go with 300 - 400 calories for three meals and around 100 calories for snacks. It is a process and you need to be patient. Soon you will learn to…
  • I was using WW Online until I found this free program, and I am happy with my continued progress. Now that you don't count points, I recommend looking primarily at calories for a bit. I eat 4 to 5 times a day. I try to keep my main three meals around 300 and my snacks around 100. My daily goal is 1200 calories. This will…
  • Do you keep a log of your daily weight? I log my weight once a week, but if I feel like I may have gained, I will start a couple days prior to my scheduled weigh in day, but only log the scheduled day's weight.

  • I nicknamed the Fiber One bars Farty Ones. So delicious, but very dangerous.
  • I put steel cut oatmeal in the slow cooker before I go to bed at night. When my husband and I wake up, it's ready and delicious. We switch it up by using fresh fruit: blueberries with Agave nector, apples with cinnamin and agave nector, etc. Make sure you use steel cut oats. They are the only oats that will hold up to the…
  • I noticed that the machines I use do not ask for my height. I enter my weight and age, however. Does that have an impact on it?
  • Typo: She's talking about binge eating.
  • I binge eat and graze. I often ask myself, before I go after the snack machine, "how are you going to feel in two hours after you have eaten that cookie? Will you want another cookie? Will you have the control to not eat another? If, yes, then don't eat it now." Or I ask myself, what if I had already had that snack and…
  • You will be a great person who can motivate others.
  • I'm sure weight management can be difficult when one has a pretty face. I see that a lot on the biggest loser. I do not have a pretty face, so I often think that I need to lose weight because I can’t have an ugly body and face. However, with age, I have found that I yo-yo when I think in these terms. I am no longer of that…
  • Me too! My husband and boy are in great shape, so I want to keep up with them this summer
