I am working toward getting off meds too. The beta blocker really helps my heart from hitting afib, so that will probably not go away completely. I also take a low dose asprin(beat warfrin for me) and Lisiniprol twice a day. I have dropped 30+ lbs since Christmas. I am a walker and a toner. I can do more as I loose weight…

sorry 'bout that. Goofed up the quote. Our Ramses came from the shelter. Great walking companion for short distances. He can make about two miles and not drag home with his tongue hanging out to the side of his mouth. Even packing water does not solve this/ I have to make my 3 plus mile walks with out him. Walker, can't…

May be Fibercystic Disease. Sore, tender, lumps, etc. I am still hard to take a mammogram and I am in menopause! Cutting caffeine, Vitamin E and Ibuprophen got me thru the tough stuff. Did not let the surgeon aspirate any of mine. (long story, but I walked out of the exam room in a gown- :grumble: ) The best part is when…

I wear a stability band under my knee cap. Helps with many things for me. Also called a Patella band. Got mine at Walmart, but other store have them. Try an eliptical if you can this week, just so as not to jar the knee. Then work up to running on an inside track, outside soft surfaces and then the road.

Down 30lbs since Christmas as of today! Get up and go! Wish we had a running smiley here. I stalled out, because I was not exercising enough. Tough to balance calories in and calories out for me. I think I have it down! Used to be a big walker. Fell away from that. Got back into walking after the first of the year. Try…

What helped me: Shoes, get a good pair, go to a real shoe store that can measure you and work with you. I prefer the local running shoe store, even for walking shoes. Good socks too. Listen to your feet for these. Warm up. I found walking on a flat surface was much easier. Then stretch. Then run if that is where you are…

First call ahead or go online to check the menu. Maybe a low fat, or high carb option of what you want. Will they take requests? I'll have the chicken with a 1 cup portion of pasta and a 1/2 cup of sauce for example. Eat the salad. Talk a lot. The more you talk and the longer it takes to eat, the more you can listen to…

The stevia plant is a member of the ragweed family. If you have a ragweed allergy, proceed with caution. I think the product tastes fine, passes with my family. So would not be a bad choice for us, other than I have NO tolerance for ragweed(or it's many cousins)

Sport socks, a cute little belt pack for my phone, ear buds, clothes. Entry into a 5K and pictures of myself for a shadow box. How about a quick portrait package of yourself when you hit a really big goal?

I'd like to suggest calling your local United Way. They can put you in touch with folks to talk to, housing if you need it and places to gain job skills. (don't know your situation) Also, if you need one, the local UW can put you in touch with local shelters for abused women. Go, get yourself safe. If you have little ones,…

Check your calcium and magnesium levels. The calcium is listed here, you have to go to reports to track. You really need your 3 a day servings of dairy. I cramp up when I have been more active than usual or I have forgotten to drink a glass of milk in the am. Runners have a half pint of low fat chocolate milk at the end of…

I have Hypothyroidism. I have been on meds for about 4 years. Once my med levels got things to normal I feel fine. About changing your caloric intake, check with your doc. You may not need to change where you are at. I can't tell if I have slow weight loss due to Hypothroidism or age(57) Still, I have lost 25…

Gal here with large thighs and rear end. I walk. As I built up walking, I starting doing the hills to get my stamina up. My hamstrings and calves are getting some definition and over all my lower body is loosing weight. If you don't have hills, try the incline on the treadmill or eliptical.

I use a product called New Skin. Has clove oil to cover wounded areas. You may want to check with your doc, just in case. This is a case of socks and shoes. Your shoes may be too large in the heel, causing slippage. Have a running shoe store show you the runners knot to tie your shoes. (this may be online too). I found…

Remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. So everything in moderation. Your body needs some carbs everyday to function. That said, we carb lovers still have to get a handle on the cravings. Lots of ways to do it. Exercise Drink a glass of water and wait twenty minutes Leave the area with your tempting carbs Chew gum Sing…

We had a 'raincoat' for our stroller when the girls were small. Clear plastic, small slits to let some air in. Velcroed to the stoller. Sure worked when we had one with the chicken pox and bronchits and the other had been snowbound way too long! I think this was from First Years. The raincoat is just an idea, to keep your…

I cook mine in 1 cup skim milk. Add a bannana and 6 almonds, 353 calories for Breakfast! Small amounts of fruit, nuts, nut butters, cinnamon, pureed pumkin to make a sweet version. My tummy doesn't go for savory/spicey in the am. But that could be a way to go too.

Have a running store check your shoes and your gait. That may be an issue. If you can pinpoint the muscle, have someone rub it and relax if for you. I heard a message thearipist suggest rolling a tennis ball across the area. Hurts like heck, but gets the muscle to relax and not contract. Arnica, found at health food stores…

From scratch. Cook dry beans at home. No salt in pasta water. No bottled salad dressing. Prepared meats. Pretty severe, but it works. If I eat canned or out, I am over. Message me on the beans if you need guidance.
