The root cause is usually fear or jealousy. Go figure.

"Muscles" by Diana Ross lol!

You are soooo correct! That's one of the reasons I'm here. It's simply a matter of conscious choices so far. I have to learn more about the reset metabolism thing.

Wow! Thanks for posting!

Thank you for posting the gnudi recipe! I'm going to try it today!

Do you think alone? Do you find yourself needing a think first thing in the morning? Are all of your thoughts focused on when and where you're getting your next think? Get help!!!!!

One of the posters here engage in a zen-like process of putting one square of chocolate or one piece of Dove chocolate on his/her tongue, closes eyes, lets it melt, concentrates on nothing but that. http://www.sparkrecipes.com/ Has some really delicious healthy recipes. Here's one I'm going to try from skinnytaste.com :…

I suspect that you have the solution lol! Godspeed!

Actually, what I have done is explain that if I want junk food, I'll cook/bake it myself as a measure of calorie control. After all, if you don't want to go through the trouble of making it, perhaps you don't want it badly enough lol!

Hey, Friend, I'm sorry I wasn't here to support you during your journey, but I'm happy that you have lost the toxic people in your life! That's been more than half the battle for me! I wish you happiness and continuing success! ijg

Lots of good advisement here. I don't know enough about the subject (my last exercise physiology course was in the '80's lol!) but I'm definityely here for moral support! You've done a great job so far!

Housekeeping. We have four cats, one dog, a mountain of dishes because we prepare all our own food. I also walk the dog four times a day. The weight bench w/attachments, plate and dumbbell rack and the recumbent exercycle are there to pop on when the opportunity arises.

Do you homeschool? It seems like a lovely and viable option nowadays.

I do what I can. I tend to concur w/the above posters.

Do you suppose that you should appreciate your boyfriend's honesty, or do you think you should trade him in for a better model?

You are one organized person!

When I was younger, I had so many terrible flaws. When I got older, I look at photos of when I was younger and wondered what on earth was I thinking then. Now that I'm an opinionated old bat, I couldn't give a hoot because I invested in myself (education, financial stability, etc.). It's wonderful to be comfy. I hope you…

Have you tried the green bean recipe posted somewhere on this site? I think you toss frozen green beans w/a little olive oil, salt them, and bake them on a cookie sheet until crispy, then serve w/ketchup? The poster swears that she and her kids love them and they're like french fries. That one sounded very good to me. If…

Must be something in the air. I did fine until I went to one of those volunteer fire department fish fries. I ate shrimp, fries, drank a huge regular-not-diet Dr. Pepper, and that, coupled with virtually no exercise today (shopping for groceries, etc.) put me right over the limit in *one* sitting. Plus, I feel totally…

Hi! If I had a bunch of answers, I probably wouldn't be here lol! However, I believe that I can speak for the majority of us that we are with you in your journey, and we stand by to support you! Send up a flare, and we'll be there! Sincerely, ijg

Yay! Another Tennessean! Sorry--am about 150 mi. from Nashville, but it's good to see some of us here!

I like it mixed w/ranch dressing mix on top of green salad. You can also whir it in a blender and make a dip out of it (a sort-of phony sour cream if you doctor it up enough).

To be honest, I try to limit our shopping to every 10 days to 2 weeks. This helps greatly in terms of having snack food around, because (if I weaken and buy some), it's pretty much gone in a short time. Also, my husband is diabetic, so if I make a sweet treat, I make it in single doses (e.g., those microwave mug cakes,…

Oops. Just wanted to tell you that your story is very inspirational and supportive to those of us who don't want to feel as if we are starving ourselves. Please keep up the good work!

Do you think that you can work your late-night snacking into your plan? I ate tons of calories at night and maintained a normal weight because I accounted for it. (That was when I was in my 30's and 40's. After 55 and getting a sedentary job, all bets were off.)
