I don't get to visit as often as I'd like and only read the most recent page or two of posts. I'm encouraged by all the successes shared and empathize with all who struggle. I seem to be struggling right now. I see the numbers going down slowly, but I don't feel the difference! I have to give myself credit for keeping up…

I wouldn't tell her how unhealthy her diet is. If she's not successful, it won't last long anyway. I would suggest MFP just for the supportive community. You can lead a horse to water... I was always embarrassed by my failed dieting attempts and didn't talk about them. Now I've just accepted that I'm in it for a lifetime…

Once a day in the morning before work. Might wait until after a workout on Saturday. Only shower more than once a day if it's been really hot or if I've gotten dirty.

Hi y'all! I'm feeling tired today and dreading getting on the scale after a weekend of no exercise. This is the time of year I dread, cold weather still hanging on, only little promises of springtime. I'm tired of the cold and walking in the dark! :grumble: At least my DH is supportive and I've got vitamin F to get me…

Happy Valentine's Day! and welcomes to Beth and Dianne! I've only had a few minutes to read the latest posts and make a reply so, LucyT- my DH also has gout. It almost immobilized him before he sucked it up and went in to see the doctor. He had to have the knee drained and it still flairs up on occasion. Dietary…

I agree with anifani4, I'm more concerned about how you've held on to these hurtful memories. You are letting these morons continue to hurt you each time you remember their comments. Yes, I've been mooed at, humiliated in public, and hurt by those who were supposed to love me most. And I know how difficult it can be to…

I love brussel sprouts! I usually steam mine, so thanks for all the other preparation ideas! Roundthemulberrybush- thanks for the refresher on essential minerals. I've been walking more and been getting those nasty cramps at night. I think I like the epsom salts idea best (no calories involved!) Didn't have any…

Plugging along! Two laps around the hospital track.

Hi y'all! I've been tring to keep up with the posts, but there are so many! I had a good day today. Took some recyclables in for my place of work's recycling efforts, got my haircut, tried a black bean burger for lunch, and then had a nice 1.5 mile walk in the park. Walked again with my husband after dinner for 2 more…

Walked twice today! Once for 1.5 miles and again this evening for 2.0 miles. It has gotten easier to make the laps around the walking trail!

I'm going to have to try harder if I'm going to get this done!

"This too shall pass." "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger." You are too wise for words. I have to totally agree with you!

As $$$ as personal training sessions are and considering that he knows I'm trying to lose weight, definitely not offended. I would want to choose the trainer though. :flowerforyou:

50 miles of walking in one month for beginners?! Oh my, what am I getting myself in for? I might as well give it a try! I walked 1.75 miles last night. :)

I don't shave much any more. Underarms if they're going to show, same with lower legs. Thighs don't have much noticable hair, but I shave them if I feel like it. Shaving never bothered me. Hair is normal and an expected part of a person's appearance. Clean and well-kept can't be beat.

Hello, I've been working with MFP for just over 2 weeks. My weight has been slowly coming off and I've found the food tracking to be much easier that I thought it would be. I've just been browsing the different message boards because I don't know how they work. My goals have been to keep under my calorie limit and try to…
