Happy Friday to all. I just set my 5 goals for the month of January. I figured December is too far gone to set goals for it. But I can start on that walking goal for January now. I'm setting a low bar of 15 minutes walking either outdoors or on the treadmill depending on the weather. o:)

Good afternoon to all. I've got the decorations all up. I still need to finish cleaning out the craft room, but I'm down to all of the "tricky" items. You know, the ones that you don't know if you should keep or discard and if you keep it you don't know where to put it. Oh, my.... life can be so complicated!

Welcome to the 5% club. That's quite and accomplishment. I'm hoping I've stayed there, will find out in about 3 wks. Be persistent and vigelant and you'll stay there too.

I had split pea soup 2 measured cups for supper. 87 before eating. 151 1 hour after and 167 2 hours after. Slow releasing carbs. Unfortunately I may have to give up this soup. Its one of my favorites. I'll cut to 1 cup and retry again.

1 hr post was 148. Didn't remember to check later.

127 p dinner - 40 carbs. I'll take it. 74 before dinner

145 after dinner last night with pasta (2/3 cup) and net carb of 49. Not a bad number for 1.5 hr post meal.

2 hrs after lunch 119 and 1 hr after dinner 131. I feel good about those as they are below the critical 140.

Congratulations! I'll bet it was nice to hear those numbers, especially the Chol. Are you on any meds for Chol?

Be aware that some of the new studies on the statins show troubling side effects and questionable benefits on reduction of heart attacks. Seems to me, that if getting BG under control and eating healthy fats will do the trick, you might be better off than using a statin.

Do you get the feeling that with type 2 Dm diagnosis, the Doctors feel like you have done it to yourself and should be looked down upon because you are a subhuman (you know: lazy, can't control your eating) If they see a older fat person they are sure you are a diabetic and not as good as they are.
