  • Obviously you DO look that thin. You are that thin. She's saying, "You know I don't want to see you as this thin, right?" Which is horrid. Why do people say things that make them look bad? I mean she's saying "I feel better about myself when I imagine you as overweight." UGH. Poor her. It's nice of you to hang around her.…
  • I burn around 150-200 depending on the level.
  • Grated parmesean. Low in calories and adds that cheese flavour.
  • LOL after day 1 I took a shower and I had to have my husband comb my hair for me afterwards! But by day 7 I wasn't so sore and I was ready for level 2 on day 11. Keep at it! Modify it the first time around if you want to. There's always the next 30 days to do it differently.
  • People are saying these things to you because they are unhappy with being overweight. Practice saying these firmly in the mirror: Awww, thanks for your concern. My doctor is happy with my healthy weight. Are you happy with your weight? You know, underweight is BMI 18 and under. My BMI is 22. What's yours? What a rude thing…
  • Me too, but my husband did it all with 5 pounds and still had a tough time finishing each level.
  • If you have nintendo wii, the scale is very accurate IMO. It does take awhile in the fitness game to get your weight, tho.
  • I had to do bladder training after having kids. You just go every half hour like clockwork and then taper off. You can do exercises too. It does work! It takes some time though.
  • Same. I'm at 145 now (goal) and now I'm moving the goal post.
  • Wow! I'm 147lbs 5'4" 10 dress size (sometimes 8 in vanity sizes) 10 pants (sometimes 8 in vanity sizes)
  • Super good job! So great! Thanks for the inspiration. You rock!
  • Thanks for showing it: I've always wondered what's possible after babies. I know it takes hard work and discipline, so thank you for sharing your progress (to me it looks like a massive success but your ticker says you're not at goal). I'm shredding now and this pic tells me I can do it! Just keep going, right?
  • Wow, that is amazing. You have totally made it happen! Inspiring.
  • The closer you get to your goal, the longer it takes to see results. If you only have 15lbs to lose, it is going to be several months before you see results (assuming you are eating 1200 calories a day). Non-scale goals can keep you motivated. For example, going by the measuring tape instead of the scale, going for fat %…
  • NSV = non scale victory Congrats on the size changes!
  • One thing I'll say about the shred is that I kicked off 5lbs and lost inches. I feel strong and energetic and I feel like writing a tearful thank you letter to Jillian with a PS that Natalie is totally cheating behind her and it makes me soooooooo mad! Thanks for the flat tummy, tho.
  • I weight 150, I'm 5'4" and I use an HRM during level 3 of 30 day shred: 200 calories burned. I'm still doing beginner versions of some of the exercises and I cannot do rockstar jumps to save my life.
  • Eat your exercise calories.
  • Keep a written record of it if you're not taking it to HR right now. I'd take it to HR if I could though. That's not okay! Plus, you are doing awesome!
  • There really are bad people out there, people who are mean. She sounds like one of them, to be honest. Following you around a store to talk about what you are buying? That is really weird! After I very publicly started MFP, I had a coworker put chocolates on my desk, over and over. I let them pile up and left them there…
  • I'm sorry for your loss. I say ask your doctor and do what feels right for you. You can probably lose weight during pregnancy, you could decide to go to maintenance, you could gain weight. Make sure your choice is an informed one. I wish you the very best TTC, I wish you a healthy pregnancy and a healthy child. May God…
  • Photos help. I didn't take before photos and I wish I had. I was avoiding the camera so I don't think there are any real before photos for me. Take measurements. I can't see changes but I know they are there because the inches are slowly coming off. Wear clothes that fit (as the above poster said). Keep a list of your NSVs…
  • Drink water, not other types of drinks. Ditch the yogurt for almonds or other nuts. Add protein. Go for variety and color on your plate. Eat smaller portions more widely spaced and try to up your calories. You might gain weight at first. Honestly, it will be better for you in the long run. Once you can eat 1200 healthy…
  • It's a long game. You could weigh every day and think your day's calories have some impact. However, it's a long game. It's the week's calories that count. Don't let the daily fluctuations get to you. It might help you to look at it week by week and have a weekly goal. If you love your daily weigh ins, then average them…
  • Wow, good job. You look great! Inspiring. Your work and dedication shows.
  • If she drinks her calories and likes very sugary drinks, could you persuade her to try smoothies? If you get a really good blender and blend for a long time, texture should not be an issue. You could make OJ a primary ingredient and very slowly introduce other fruits/veggies. Okay so she likes what she likes, period.…
  • I thought I could say I'm okay with my husband + anything, but the truth is, the ONE thing I'm too embarrassed about is exercise. I exercise fully clothed but there is a slapping sound during 30 day shred (and another sound during plank jacks, some of you ladies know what I'm talking about) that I really dislike to hear…
  • There's a woman at my church who I know must be losing weight right now. She's lost about two sizes I think, maybe more. I'd love to say something complimentary but I don't know how to do it without it sounding like she was heavy before. I was heavier than she ever was back in December. I'm worried "you've lost weight"…
  • Everyone there now knows what she's like. I bet she has a hard time making/keeping friends. She sounds so clueless I feel kind of sorry for her. You're on a journey to health but who knows what journey she's on.

  • I so know what you mean about travel food. You can always go into the kitchen and request raw foods such as onions and tomatoes. My fave meal for a long time was a tin of sardines, chickpeas or beans with vinaigrette, onion and if there was some around, tomato. It's a great, low calorie lunch. Don't be shy about going into…
