Yep. This.

They are also good for rehab. I am in week 4 of a mandatory 12-week rehab schedule. From there, I get to return to the gym. Three years ago, I progressed from body weight to machines to free weights and in 8 weeks, I get to do it all over again. As you spend your time looking around at others while you rest between sets,…

I really like my Suunto. It doesn't talk to a many machines as the Polar models do, but the reporting and tracking tools available on-line are outstanding.

And we have a winner!!

If you are using MFP to set your calorie goal ( which I think you are doing from what I read before), then you should eat back your cardio calories (especially if you are at 1,200). Your recommended deficit from MFP is based on a net number. To track this, enter your cardio exercises to see where you are on a net basis.…

That's just shameless.

My gym offers these and my trainer teaches at least one class three times a week. I see all levels in these classes and the trainers make adjustments for beginners as well as those who are quite advanced. Like someone already said, a good instructor will come to your level and help you gain higher levels. Also, my trainer…

Any Offspring will do. Add some The Heavy and Queens of the Stone Age and my motor is running.

Save a couple for me!!

I travel a lot. When I go to Europe, especially, this is my approach, except maybe portion control. If it's good, I will probably eat the whole serving. Even I gain some, I think it's worth the experience. You never know when you might be back. Enjoy yourself, stay active and bring home memories that will stay with you…

No.

Yep, focus first on calories and portion control. If you over think things in the early stages, it could well turn you off to the whole process. What is you number one goal? Weight loss? Then calories really are the most important thing to focus on. It's very basic math - burn more than you consume.

Did it - watch the Saints win the Super Bowl in the stadium. Still thinking on a new #1.

I'm a scared! And not just of carbs. :noway:

Ah, the blessings of the internet!

Probably my own facilities.

Cool, isn't it? Had a similar thing happen with a new employee a few months ago. Caught me off guard. Congratulations!

Much truth in here. Also, I don't think there is an "official" daily recommended allowance on sugar like there is for other micro nutrients. The only reason to limit sugar is if you have been advised by your doctor or medical professional.

Da best!

No chance you're going to hang that one on me.

Almost anything Offspring or Queens of the Stone Age. I like to end with The Heavy, usually What Makes a Good Man?

In the words of Emperor Palpetine, kill them all.

Isn't math great?! Great post. And Excel is not really that bad for a simple trend line like you've done here. Excellent post and a great way to look at the big picture. Thank you.

Great post. This should be pinned at the top for people who feel like quitting or having doubts.

You, sir, are brilliant. I just got to my goal weight. Now I need to find maintenance. No chance I'm relying on instinct to do that. I've been logging, even pre MFP, for longer than I can remember. I plan to continue in maintenance. One big reason to stay on MFP for it, besides the awesome friends I have? I can track…

I'm so glad you're on my friend list!

I applaud you for your first-person answer. That's some serious self-awareness there. I suffer from 1-4 and 6. The only way I beat it was when I got to a new low (high I guess) and decided to work on changing my habits. Three years later, I still struggle. Because my natural state is to be lazy.
