  • I have yet to find a recipe that makes me even vaguely feel like I was eating actual bread, A local store here sells Sola bread and I just keep it in the freezer when I just "have to have" a sandwich
  • Restarting here too. Spiraled out of control after losing my husband, but trying to regroup. I can use some new friends as many of the ones I had before are no longer active. Feel free to add me.
  • Some great ideas in there guys, thank you so much for the support. Like I said I don't mind being the only one in the house not eating the carbs, honestly I don't even find them a temptation. It is the "on the run" and the boredom of the same things over and over that I find the most challenging. I should have no problem…
  • that recipe sounds like a definite "give it a try" but might have to wait a couple of weeks to pick up the missing ingredients. Thank you
  • loving the home made protein bar ideas! Thank you
  • We usually end up at arbys, where I order a side salad and a turkey slider I steal the meat and cheese off of and toss the bun, or wendys where I just get a jr bacon cheeseburger and toss the bun. BEYOND sick of both choices lol. Might try some tuna salad made a bit earlier than I usually do. or on Sunday prep make some…
  • Thanks guys, would love the recipes for the almond rolls and the keto protein bars. Both sound like pretty good options. If you have the recipe please drop it in, otherwise I will try to find the recipes. I try to make a batch or two of cloud bread on my one day off (Sundays) so it wouldn't be hard to make a batch of…
  • lightly toasted cloud bread. My go to "sandwich" bread. Makes a great delivery system for peanut butter, tuna salad, egg salad, sausage and cheese, and turkey clubs..... ok so I may be slightly addicted to cloud bread lol.
  • Welcome back Lori. I had been off the keto wagon from december until about a month and a half ago. The hubby took a major turn for the worse and most meals were on the road, I hit a point I didn't think I could face another double cheeseburger no bun lol. SOOOO long story short I gained back a lot of what I had lost and…
  • I went through the kids HUGE haul of candy last night, and didn't eat a single piece either!!! So proud of all of us!!! I did however stick my head in their huge cauldron of candy and inhale deeply.... does that count toward carbs? lol
  • My son has been a T1D since he was two. So Halloween, Easter, Christmas stockings etc, both kids get a piece or two a night (to keep things fair). There are never sugary breakfasts or snacks in the house. BUT I have the distinct feeling once they are on their own they are both going to break loose and eat themselves sick…
  • Anyone is welcome to add me. I haven't been logging lately since life has gotten busy... but still eating on plan
  • oh Halloween is always a huge haul around here, and this year the kids are bringing a friend with them.... their friend doesn't really eat candy... so guess where she's leaving it lol yup even more sugar in the house. On the bright side the last time I had candy it tasted like ick, so hopefully it will sit on top of the…
  • Went to make myself a LC wrap for lunch and found the turkey, shredded cheese and pepperoni were all gone lol. How do they even eat it that fast?
  • Anyone in this group is welcome to add me. <3
  • Welcome aboard... anyone is welcome to add me. I love the "likes" and support.
  • lol my cats are all over me when I eat too! The hubby says it's because I spoil them too much. But I really don't give them food off my plate often.... that's the problem with rescues... they always act like they have to scavenge.
  • two NSV's today. First I was able to wear one of my favorite tops I haven't been able to wear in two years.... without it being snug on the arms! And second I actually got ID'd at the store for lottery tickets.... ok seriously I am almost 40, so it was NOT because I look 17 lol but I am taking it as a physical improvement…
  • I think the 15 yr old boy would gnaw through the chain lolol. He is currently in the bottomless pit stage. The little twirp has grown a foot in the last year and now is tall and skinny and has to look down at me. I keep telling him I can still take him though lol
  • The hubby really can't go LC with his kidney issues (too much sodium) or he probably would. And the kids have no interest in giving up their carbs right now, but boy they are quick snatch my treats before their own.
  • NSV= My big bath towel wrapped around me when I got out of the shower today... with no gaps lol
  • I usually grab a low carb tortilla or flatbread and stuff it full of turkey, cheese, bacon, mayo, and lettuce. Only takes a minute to make, very filling and yummy.
  • When you are impatiently waiting for the temperature to cool off enough to throw that turkey that has been sitting in your freezer in the oven with lots of butter and garlic. Or cool enough to stand over a hot grill and cook up a huge batch of burgers and sausages....ok... now I want sausage lol
  • true, just knowing her as well as I do (soul sister, we were roommates for almost a decade) I know she would be hesitant. That is why I was trying to do a bit of "research" to compel her. I don't want to "Low Carb thump" or preach at her, I just want her to give it a shot and see if it helps.
  • oh she absolutely would be interested in reading the board here. She has been on MFP for years. I think she is just holding off sending a request to this board until she is sure she wants to commit to this woe. And I wish she would hurry up, because heaven knows she would gain a lot more info from you guys than I can pick…
  • I have, and I have sent her links to several that apply to her. Just knowing how very much better I feel, I would love to have her experience the same. I was just hoping someone with firsthand experience was around that I could share with her rather than just bombarding her with links to websites lol.
  • North Carolina, and 41 days.... pales in comparison to some of the long timers here, but I will be able to say more impressive numbers soon :persevere:
  • Thank you guys so much. I am actually very proud of myself lol. I agree I think just bulking up the butter and cheeses should help a lot, maybe toss in a couple nuts as a little snack. Most evenings I can't eat what the rest of the family is eating, pastas and rices abound for them. I usually take whatever meat they add to…
  • thank you for the suggestion. I will look for it today.
