I peel and cut them into steak fries or regular fries, put them in a bag and add a tiny bit of oil, ground black pepper, garlic powder and cayenne pepper, shake, and then put them one layer thick on a baking pan. Put in oven for 20 minutes at about 400F, turning at the 10 minute mark. TASTY! (and spicy!)

You worded that far more eloquently that I would have. Thank you for seeing the same thing I did upon reading that post on my friend(s) facebook pages. Cheers!

Raw with dip is always a good way to go! Even without dip... it's pretty tasty raw.

I've gone from 288lbs to 191lbs, and I still see the person who is 288lbs in the mirror. I've started making myself recognize that I'm smaller - be it something as simple as sitting cross legged on the floor, or just dancing with my husband in our living room, and making him "dip" me and realizing that he's supporting the…

lol - it'll be fun... we'll help each other out this year... :)

I've taken over cooking everything for my side of the family, that way I know what's in it, and I can preplan what I'm going to have, put a slightly smaller plate at my spot, and know what I'm going to eat ahead of time. For my husband's side, I will try to stick with things that don't have sauce - the white turkey meat,…

If your store carries the "renee's gourmet" salad dressing, and you don't mind spending a bit more, I highly recommend them. Their raspberry vinagrette is absolutely amazing, and the blueberry/acai dressing isn't too bad either! I go through the raspberry pretty quick, because it's delicious on spinach salads (I add…

To make awesome stuffed peppers - steam the peppers first. I do that in a pressure cooker that has a steamer basket, so it only takes a couple minutes. If you steam them first, they get cooked, and then you stuff them with the cooked filling, so you only need to bake them for a short time to ensure everything is warm. As…

I'm always over on my fiber! Right now, it's due to blueberries, but fresh fruits and multigrain when it comes to anything "bready" is always a good idea. I also get the crystal light singles with fiber added for when I need some flavour for my water.

I'm also lactose intolerant, but there are some dairy things that I crave. I buy the lactose free milk from the store - it's a little more expensive, but I only use about a quarter cup a day, so I only buy a 1L at a time. For yogurt/cheese/ice cream, I just take a lactaid with it. As for snacks, I mostly have fresh fruit…

quinoa, yams, mushrooms, chicken, blueberries... mmm...

Not vegetarian, however have a few pretty good vegetarian friendly recipes! For example: Spicy Quinoa Stuffed Peppers: -steam 3 medium to large bell peppers (I do this in a pressure cooker as it's faster) -cook 1/2 cup Quinoa (1/2 cup quinoa in 1 cup of water, bring to a boil, simmer for about 15 minutes until done) -in a…

Try butter lettuce. The leaves roll better. You can do mexican style tacos in it as well!

lol... because if people actually looked at the calories in, say, an apple fritter or strawberry strudel, they would be confronted with the horrendous amounts of calories, and the stores would never sell anything... ignorance is bliss for the store's bottom line. In all seriousness, because it's made in a bakery or store…

Depends on the cereal, but most cereals have a small serving size. Read the labels at the store! I prefer shredded wheat "bales" - 2 biscuits per serving at (I believe it is) 160cals plus milk, or Corn Bran - 1 cup per serving at 120 cals plus milk.

I work 9pm to 7am - I hear ya! I've just reversed my days. DON'T fall into the trap of trying to switch your sleep/wake cycle back to "normal" on your weekends.. "it's a trap!", and will just make you less coherent all around. Develop a routine, and once you've done the shift for a week or two, you should get adjusted. My…

Thanks all! :D And after everyone was asking... I'm approx. 5'7" I've always looked a bit lighter than I am... probably because I used to lifeguard and was pretty much all muscle (I could pull at 300lb person out of a pool by myself when I weighed between 170-190)... so yes, I am 200 (well, now 199) in that last pic! Oh -…

Awesome job! For those who can't see the pick on the right, right click the pic and select "view image". The new page will load with just that image.

I use the EA Sports Active 2 on the Wii... and it's been pretty much all I've been using... and by the ticker in my signature, I think I'm doing pretty well! Suggestion for vegetarian friendly food: Quinoa. If you haven't tried it, it is excellent, and is a complete protein in a grain. It is excellent, and you can make…

Gratz! That is an excellent accomplishment! I've still got a few pounds to go before I'll be able to say the same thing... *sigh*... but it's getting there! Keep up the awesome work and commitment!

Spinach, mandarin oranges (the canned kind, either canned in water or no sugar added), raspberries, a handful of slivered almonds, and a raspberry vinaigrette. If you aren't lactose intolerant (I am... ), add goat cheese or feta as an extra. Very tasty! Edit: as for not tasting as good... I think the trick is that when you…

Small hormonal changes in your body happen throughout the day, and can cause the scale to read heavier or lighter. If you MUST weigh every day, do it at the same time each day, and only pick ONCE a day. Don't drive yourself nuts over things you can't control. That being said, try to weigh in a little less frequently...…

Right now... watermelon as it's in season. Other than that - the single serving packages of honey teddy grahams... :) I'm not a huge "sweets" person in the first place though. My issue has always been that I would rather have another helping of "regular meal food" for dessert, so I've had to strictly portion control what…
