First of all, you did not gain significant muscle in 8 days - sorry :P BUT, you are probably retaining some water for muscle repair. AND, it would be bordering on impossible to gain 6 lbs of fat in 8 days - that would be 2625 calories a day above maintenance PLUS, a million other factors like time of day, what you ate and…

love! seriously- and for some reason, I needed this today <3

I get your frustration... I really do. I worked at a grocery deli counter for years and got treated as worthless or without intelligence plenty. I'm now a 'professional' and I have clients who are awesome but change their minds a lot :p That being said, it is a tad arrogant to assume that everyone who doesn't progress as…

Cancer is a scary disease and I hate it with a bloody passion. I am sorry you have to deal with any of this BUT - You WILL be fine because they caught it so early and because you will be armed with all the info you need to make decisions about treatment. Keep your chin up, buttercup - you have a long life ahead of you!…

The milk itself has natural sugars so I would think the best you could do is no added sugar. If you just want the cultures, a lot of pharmacies sell the live cultures (refrigerated) on chewable or powder form

Great job and "saving" this thread cause it is that good :)

In for the big words and pitchforks :P

I largely agree with her statement.... And, for me, it was a bit like an epiphany... I have PCOS and find it very difficult to lose weight without giving up carbs. I havdn't been able to make it thru the first couple days (much less couple weeks) of Atkins or South Beach in years. But, last January, I started a 60 days to…

Awesome! How have i not seen this before? :D

I've lost 42 lbs in the last year and am pretty content with my body from the waist up.... I'd like to be thinner and I'd like to lose the arm fat; but I think I look pretty decent, KWIM? BUT, from the waist down, I HATE looking in the mirror or at my profile. I carry so much weight in my belly :( Anyway, I do TKD or a…

I do have PCOS (verified by multiple blood tests and by ultrasound) but I am not a special snowflake either.. If I eat a lower carb diet and count calories and exercise, I can lose weight. If I quit losing weight, I have either started slacking on exercise/logging OR I have been eating way too many simple carbs

She says she wants to lose 30-40 and then her profile says she is aiming for 180. But, yeah- my first question is how much have you already lost in what time period? My next is to say how are you measuring your caloric burns and caloric intake? Sounds to me like the latter is mostly eye-balling which can be waaaaaay off.…

If you let MFP calculate your caloric goals, then yes- eat back your exercise calories as the deficit is already built in. Do bear in mind that MFP estimates of calories burned may be high. If you aren't using a HRM, you may want to try eating back 50-75%

I don't log tea, water, sugarless gum, mustard or spices (I don't usually use the spice mixes that may have sugar added) . I log everything else- including vitamins and coffee.

According to some comments, she is a student at UCLA studying computer programming but has a youtube channel on which she pretends to be stupider than a box of rocks. I have no idea if that is true but I do know I lost IQ points watching that

The Tumblr site and youtube vid - and this whole thread really - just made my day. Awesome. I will now tell my husband that I need to go shopping for new curtains for my vagina window :drinker:

My first cousin's adoptive father is a nuclear physicist and his Jewish wife keeps Kosher. Therefore t is fact that all nuclear reactors are certified safe for Passover.

Finally was measured with calipers and my body fat% is supposedly 10-15% points lower than a few calculators and my scale say. I have always thought 105 was an unrealistic goal weight for my 5'1" self - this serves as confirmation cause I am actually carrying more than 105 lbs of LBM right now even if I assume the avg of…

I buy the 11oz premier protein vanilla at Costco and use them when I'm in a big hurry and don't have time to cook. My husband takes them every morning for his breakfast - better than the cheese stick he used to have LOL. They do the job and are better than no breakfast imho
-
I usually order fajitas with grilled chicken and/or steak; no beans and rice; no tortillas. Guac is full of good fats and they never bring much (or much chz and sour cream FTM) at out local place so I use a wee bit of sour cream, guac and cheese ETA: I almost always have about a dozen chips with the queso dip the rest of…

Everything taser turkey said. But I would also consider the merits of going low carb - not NO carb mind you. I have PCOS and IR and have had the most success by limiting whole grains to after exercise and getting most of my carbs from fruits and vegetables. I do cheat occasionally but the goal is to keep blood sugar on an…

I would try validating the calorie counts the fitbit is giving you by using the calculators at http://fatburn.com/free_tool_activity_burn.asp I would also calculate your actual stride and input that into fitbit settings - mileage may be inaccurate I would take measurements and/or photos for comparisons - the scale…

Your doctors are nuts :( FWIW, an internet friend had several miscarriages and a full-term stillbirth (clot in the cord). They finally dx'd her with MTHFR after the stillbirth and her successful pregnancy was on lovenox (or heparin - can't remember) . Glad you will insist and I wish you luck and blessings in both the…
-
I'm really sorry for your losses... Have they tested you for clotting disorders like what some infertility forum friends called the Mother F@#$er gene? As to the rest, don't obsess over the scale... measurements are a much better indicator of progress. And I ditto getting a food scale and everything jfrankic said. Good…

I saw your post back in April and loved your before and afters then. This is awesome- your determination and optimism are contagious :D My 70y.o. Mom has arthritis pretty bad and had injured her knee a few years back. she just had a single partial replacement in February. biggest takeaway is how important it is to work…

SBD is not fad and is medically sound - esp for those needing a pre-diabetic type diet. I believe healthy fats and nuts are allowed on phase one, right? Try adding a serving of nuts or no-sugar-added nut butters to your diet- or maybe avocado? They are both nutritionally and calorically dense. But, I seriously doubt 2…
