Heathy calorie limit for a teenager?

Hi im asking for a friend concerned her son is not eating enough or the right foods.

Hes age 14 ,around 5ft 5 inches tall, slim athletic build .. no current weight im afraid and not very active recently.

Any advice would be great, he eats very small meals very fussy eater.

    it's hard to give an accurate number, because we don't know his weight. anywhere from 2000-3000 is healthy.

    need more info to really say. It's like asking how much should a 20 y/o female eat a day. we just went to know more. try talking to his doctor if you are worried about it or thinking maybe an eating disorder?

    Agree with everyone else, it's hard to put a number on how much he should be eating. But I have some advice; try to get him involved in the kitchen with preparing fun meals or shopping at farmers markets for fruits and vegetables. Also, try to get him involved in some sort of sport or activity, like swimming. As his activity increases, his appetite will likely increase as well.
