Rainy day here in north Alabama so hit the gym! 2 miles treadmill jog and 8 mikes bike.

I'm in! Ready for a hundred!

I'm in to start on Wednesday! Temperature will be 14 for the high Monday and 21 for Tuesday so I've circled Wednesday for my start. I've just been released by my doctor following a meniscus repair surgery late November so I'll be a little slow but have my app loaded and ready.

Anybody walking / jogging today? It's rainy and a little cold but I'm hoping for a break to get in at least a short walk.

Thanks for the hello! Hope 2014 brings you much success in your "healthier you" journey!

Hi ladies! I'll be going to my orthopedic doctor on Monday (the 30th) to hopefully be released to return to exercising. Hope to graduate to some light running but will be very happy to at least add walking back in. I'd like to commit to 50 miles of walking/jogging for January and maybe we'll take this into February?

Hi all - it sure would be nice to have a few ladies to connect with and to share the journey to a healthier lifestyle! I injured my knee in the summer and had some minor surgery to repair it just before Thanksgiving and I've used that as an excuse to eat poorly and to not exercise! I've found myself able to exercise again…

I just began Couch to 5K this morning! I sure have a long way to go but the app I downloaded really helped and I have a lot of determination to see this through. Good to hear from all that have completed it and already on to bigger goals!

You can do this! It's 3x a week and just take it slow. Post your results - it'll be encouraging to everyone else!
-
Start back over and stick to it! The results will be worth it. I'm counting on week 3 to be a turning point when I'll see some real progress.
-
Great encouragement! Keep going!

I use Runkeeper and have for 2-3 years. The stats closely match what myfitnesspal uses so I like that connection. My husband uses Nike.

I'm back on starting today as well. Frustrated with myself for getting away from healthy eating and regular exercise but today is a fresh start!

Great reminders! Thank for posting!

Hi! I just started today working toward a 1/2 marathon - mine is scheduled for May 18th. I ran one in 2009 but I'm basically starting from scratch. At this point walking and running same amounts of time and will hopefully run more than walk for the race! Good luck! Post how you're doing from time to time.

I'm new to giving up the diet sodas! I have only gone about 2 weeks but can already feel the difference. I too read an article that was shocking at the damage it does to our bodies. Congrats on what you've accomplished!

I have a couple of pairs of bike liners - great choice to use with shorts of your choice or longer pants if biking in colder weather. Not a big investment but a big help!
-
These sound wonderful! Have you tried freezing them?
-
I'm in and heading out for a walk now!

Hello and I agree! Short term goals haven't worked for me in the past. A new year gives a natural beginning for a new way of thinking. I'm looking to lose weight in a healthy way that includes better food choices and adding regular exercise. Best of success with your efforts!
