35 lbs by August is a bit ambitious but not impossible, I've lost 33 lbs in 5 months, and mind you the 1st month I wasn't even really consciously trying to lose. I agree with the others, don't try to do everything at once. You will end up exhausted, sore, or even worse, with an injury. Your body also needs fuel to survive.…

There is a glitch in the Matrix, and I'm sure it's on MFP's end. It will adjust your calories according to the wrong time, giving you an inflated number of calories left. For instance my adjustment will say "based on 1800 calories burned by 6:00pm, when really according to FitBit I burned 1800 by 9pm. So while Fitbit…

Let's not forget Mark Wahlberg

A cross between Enrique Iglesias, Jon Seda and Wilmer Valderrama. Oh wait, forget it. I'm already dating someone who looks like that.  :smooched:  :blushing: However my dream guy is Clive Owen.

I'll be happy with either version of my body from 10-12 years ago. If I can't get back to that, I will be more than happy to get this woman's body. It might be a bit much for some people, though.

Same as the rest, feel free to add me, I'm on here and log in every day and support all. I even log my food when I'm having a bad food day!!

You're not alone, we even have a Type 2 Diabetics group on here, feel free to join it!! I was diagnosed in December with a A1c of 7.2 and I was at 186lbs. My average blood sugar at the time was 160. I started on here in January. As of my last blood work in March, my A1c was down to 5.6. I'm down to154 lbs. So it is…

I'm not in the area, but I meet all of your other requirements. I have osteo arthritis in both knees, wrists and shoulders. I work out from home and the gym. In the house I'm doing Zumba and Nike+ fitness on my Xbox Kinect, and also just bought 30 Day Shred which I will start sometime soon. I have P90X, but want to wait…

Funny I saw this I went to see Muse last night and was in the GA area, so I was standing the whole time. However half of it was spent avoiding the mosh pit, or pushing the guys back from hitting me, or holding my BF back from knocking someone's teeth in when they did hit me. I couldn't figure out how many extra calories I…

I can contest it can be controlled. However as far as reversing, maybe some of the side effects can be, but this is likely only temporary. I was diagnosed in mid December 2012 with an A1c of 7.2. My doctor didn't want to say I had diabetes until I waited a few weeks to have blood work done again and see what that showed.…

Just bought one today, was pretty surprised that out the box it said I burned 1125 calories, but after doing some research, that seems to be an estimate of how much I would have burned today if I did nothing at all. Hopefully tomorrow I will have a more detailed report, but so far I am loving it. I tested it by going up a…

I wish, add 10 years or rather 11 come June.

Takingcontrol - 27?

I won't know for sure either until I get blood work done again at the end of this month. My liver numbers were normal before I was on the Metformin, and that was the only thing that changed from February to March. Everything else I was doing was the same and I didn't change anything other than maybe exercising more.

Great work!! I wish I had taken before pics when I started on here. We're almost at the same point. I'm 5'3, started on here at 186 and down to 156 as of today with trying to get down to 140.
-
Congrats! That is a great effort! I also dropped my number down. Diagnosed in December 2012 at 7.2. Dropped to 6.8 in January, 6.0 in February, and finally 5.7 in March. This was of course after losing 30 lbs. (I'm sure I weighed more before I started tracking and eating healthier). So it is possible to drop your numbers…

When my doctor first told me to test, he said he wanted me to check 4x a day. Mainly before each meal and then at bedtime. Considering I didn't always eat breakfast right away, it might have been as late as an hour after waking before I would test. Generally it was within 15-35 minutes of waking. Right before taking the…

Been sticking to around 150 per day max. I think I only went over it maybe 2 or 3 times, and each time it didn't cause my BG to go crazy.

Yeah I think I need to get a heart rate monitor or just hold out for the FitBit Flex. I just let MFP calculate the calories, and enter the dancing games as Dancing, general and the Nike+ Kinect as calisthenics, since that's basically what it is. I just finished Week 1 and only working out 3 days a week with it because I…

You do get a good workout from the Dance games, especially if you do the harder songs. I just got my Xbox and Kinect and have been doing the Dance Central 3 along with just finishing Week 1 of the Nike+Kinect training. That one is kicking my *kitten* and made me realize just how out of shape I really am. I may get some of…

This. What made me go to the doctor for a check up (and ending up finding out I indeed did have diabetes) was watching my mother end up in ICU with fluid in her lungs, her kidneys failing, her heart failing and blood sugar over 700. I knew diabetes ran in my family, and the minute the doctor told me I had it, I was…

I've been on Metformin (again) for about 2 1/2 weeks now and my numbers have been dipping to the lowest I've ever seen. I've been dropping into the 80's which is low for me where as before I was averaging around 98-118. Last night I was light headed, fatigued, my vision was blurry and I was extremely tired. However that…

One I've been using that I got out of a magazine. It's filling and gives you extra pep for the day. 1/2 cup almond milk 1/3 cup uncooked oats or plain oatmeal 1/2 apple 1 tablespoon peanut butter. Add ice to desired consistency (usually 3 or 4 is fine) On days I work out I'll add 1 tablespoon chia seeds and 1 scoop of…

I can do squats now. I was not able to do them without wanting to fall over before.

Just did my assessment tonight. According to the Kinect I burned 72 calories in the 30 mins assessment. I think that's likely yo be way off. I'm not as bad as I thought I would be, but it did make me realize how much strength and balance I lost in my legs dealing with osteoarthritis. I was barely able to do the one legged…

I was about to start doing this as well, and have found the calories burned on some of the games to be off. I mean I did dancing on Dance Central 3 for 45 minutes and only burned 60 calories? I can burn twice that in 30 minutes of walking! If anyone wants to friend me on here or on Xbox, feel free, my handle is…

Thanks for sharing, as I am a closet nerd, even if I have traded my MMOs for my Xbox. I will have to start going to the site from now on!

Glad to hear your are in recovery. I had mine taken out in 2006. I had 2 attacks before the doctor said mine had to come out. I was told it was full of stones and would possibly burst if I waited another month or 2 for surgery. While yes, weight gain and weight loss can cause issues, neither of these caused mine. I am 90%…

If I remember correctly, to lose weight you should be eating according to your BMR or your TDEE - 20%. So your real calorie intake should be 1628 to lose weight.

I was about the same as you, and it sounds about right. I know at a point you reach a stall once you get below 30% BF. SW: 186 CW: 162 GW: 150 (for now) I started around Thanksgiving, but for arguments sake, we'll say December 1. December I lost 9 lbs January I lost 8 lbs February I lost 7 lbs. So I would say you are on…
