Wow - thanks for all the input! I think I'm on the right track according to what I've read on the comments regarding moving. I will just continue doing what I am doing, adding more as I'm able! I am back on track this week too for "real" exercise so hopefully will see a loss on Friday. Thanks again for the responses!

Love your writing style - I bookmarked ya!

You can do it! Sounds like you have a great plan and using this site to the full will absolutely help you reach your goals

Garrett & Suzzanne - good for the both of you for what you are doing!! I'm always so impressed with anyone furthering their education & then to try to stay in shape/shape up on top of that makes it even more impressive. It is SO difficult to make good choices when you are so busy busy - and Suzzanne you have a husband too…

First off - GOOD job on that 47lb loss!! I'm so super impressed by that - in such a short time too!! Secondly, yes, I have issues seeing any changes in myself. I am down 34+ pounds - down from a 22/24 to a 16/18 and can squeeze into some 14s. When I look in the mirror I do not see ANY difference. NONE. I see the same face…

Ok thanks for the challenges! My calorie allowance is 1600 exercise: shooting for 500 mins crunches: shooting for 50 a day For next week check out this site: http://hundredpushups.com/what.html There is an app to download for iphones too. I'm going to see what I'm capable of both these crunches and the pushups! I was at a…

I agree with you! I'm adding back in my Leslie Sansone and step aerobic's this week. I would love to show a loss for this next week. What are the challenges by the way? I haven't posted my water and vegetables but I have been on top of them...

Sounds amazing!! Thanks!

So no change, good or bad in my weight this week. This week wasn't my norm regarding exercise - wasn't able to do my water aerobics once and didn't end up doing anything at home other than yardwork etc.
-
Yep, I'm ready. I am in this for the ultra long haul - I realize that I didn't put this weight on overnight and am allowing myself time to get it off. I generally go by the fit of my clothes anyway rather than the scale as I have lost an amazing amount of inches and yet only 34 lbs. No clue why but so long as I see some…

July 6th: water: 64+/64 (oz) fruits and veggies: 5/5 Weekly exercise - right on track! Portland has finally gotten some good weather which has me outside working in my yard and getting my garden FINALLY planted!! I didn't even turn on my computer yesterday which is an amazing thing and I only just got on here a lil bit ago…

I'm so sorry! I hope you have a good support system set up - you certainly need one for your tragedy. I think it's a good idea to do what you can to heal emotionally and physically as you said. I would concentrate on that more so and personally, not focus overmuch on your weightloss. Take care.
-
Oh but you aren't - I have you beat by a good 30 pounds!
-
Ok thanks guys for being so sweet AND encouraging. I am in this to improve for the month of July and I promise I will! I will also support all of you in your endeavors :) I am officially back from my convention, tomorrow really starts the month of July for me. I have gotten in very basic exercise, have gotten my water goal…

So just to be honest I almost asked to be deleted from this group!! I feel like you all are waaaay far and above my exercise level.... BUT my goal for July was to exercise more so I will hopefully just get motivated by all of you and not discouraged! July 1st Challenges: water: 90/64(oz) fruits and veggies: 5/5 weekend…

Looking forward to pushing myself this month. I really want to start having consistent losses again. I started in October and have lost 34 lbs.. I have hypo thyroid which hinders me somewhat in my weight loss which only adds frustration for me!! Basically I have lost almost NOTHING since April. I finally lost two pounds…

I'm game! I finally broke through my plateau today and am hoping to show a much bigger loss for July :flowerforyou:

I do!! When friends want to know how I'm losing weight I explain it like this: Each morning I wake up to find that some one has left 1400 calories at my door to spend however I would like during the day. If I want a bit more, I can exercise and earn more calories to spend. Once I run out, I can't afford to eat anything…

So true...

Wow! What a transformation - your face has shrunk!! Great job :flowerforyou:

I'm sorry you are having to deal with issues like this. Certainly we should be able to count on family to support us or at the very least not attack us verbally in such a hateful manner! I know it's been said already, but, try your best to limit contact. If you do have contact and are able to steer clear of the subjects…

Good for you!! 14lbs is awesome! Keep it up - it's working!

I share your pain... Do you like hot tea? Or hot chocolate? I have so many different flavors of tea and I recently bought some hot cocoa that only has 15 calories a cup! Sometimes this will satisfy me. I also, just this week, started adding a fiber supplement to my diet - it dissolves in liquid without turning into a gel,…

Impressive!! I try to get my fruits/vegetables from a local produce stand - way less than the regular stores. I also will buy meat in bulk and then repackage it into smaller parts. I will cut up my vegetables too and repackage them so they are ready to use when I need to throw something together quickly. Do you have a…

Sounds like the pool will be a good thing all the way around - happy kids, happy parents and weight loss to boot! I do not use my hrm for my water aerobics because it isn't water proof. When I put in 3 hours of swimming leisurely into the database it says I would have burned 2000 calories. There is NO WAY I would ever…
-
I agree with you! I hate it when I get bad fruit... With cantalope I always press in the end and then smell it - if it smells sweet and good like a cantalope should, I buy it. I rarely have any bad ones anymore. Watermelon I just learned! I now look for one that has a large patch of white or yellow on one side - it means…
-
Hi! TOTALLY jealous of your pool... It's difficult to gauge true calorie burn without a heart rate monitor. I tend to find the mfp database gives a higher calorie burn when I compare it to what my hrm says for the same activity. SO what I do (when I'm not wearing my hrm & just going by the database) is drastically cut my…

I love mexican food as does my husband. I have done several different things when we have gone out. I will bring my own low cal chips/crackers and use those for the salsa, or I will bring veggies of my own and use those for the salsa. I have also brought my own flour tortillas to use for fajitas. We have been regulars at…

I love cottage cheese! I only get the 4% fat though if I'm going to eat it plain or with fruit because the texture of the lowfat and nonfat ones I can't stomach. The 4% fat is so creamy and yummy - the calories aren't much higher and I just account for them in my daily allowance. Now if I'm going to cook with it, I will…

1. How old are you? 44 2. What is your body shape? Hourglass 3. Has diet or exercise made more of a difference in your weight loss? What else has worked? For me it has to be diet AND exercise. Exercise has helped in toning as I lose. Drinking water is key too!!
