Haha. My first thought when you said headaches, wanting to eat, and not having energy was that you might be pregnant. Those were my first indicators... The good news is that the headaches went away after a couple of weeks...;)

For milk...if it smelled and tasted fine, no problem. Even if it didn't, it just turns to yogurt which will not make you sick. (ok, it might make me hurl if I swallowed a chunk, but not because it was dangerous...just gross!)

I walk with two dogs (one very large, one very loud), but when I used to have to protect myself on long walks (from packs of large, unpredictable dogs), I would carry a very small canister of pepper spray. Thankfully, it was never needed, but I felt better knowing I had it. The other key is to take the headphones off.…

I've had PF for about 7 years now. Every once in awhile, it rears it's ugly head and flares up. Things I've learned from podiatrists, physical therapists, and experience: Never go barefoot Stay out of flip flops - you need supportive shoes. Chucks aren't good shoes to be in as an every day shoe - you might want to look for…

Panini press. You can throw chicken breasts in it and it's done in minutes.

Tosca Reno had an article in the new Clean Eating magazine with this same title. It was mostly just about not eating things that would make you bloat, not really about having a defined stomach.

The only difference between low and high is the speed at which it comes to full temperature. They will both ultimately get to the same temp. Because the temperature is still pretty low, some recipes don't recommend that you cook a huge roast on low the whole time (they want to get the temp up faster so that the bacteria…

I really like the last sentence you wrote - very insightful!

I've used mine in the pool with no problems. As said previously, just don't push any buttons while underwater and it should be fine.

I have traveled a fair amount over the years both overseas and domestically. During an exacerbation where I completely lost vision in one eye, I got out of the hospital and within a week, flew to Germany for 3 weeks (tagging along on my husband's work trip). Best thing ever - it gave me time to focus on myself and my own…

I used to hate veggies too. I grew up with iceberg salads and frozen corn. When I started to learn how to cook and enjoy it, I began to get seriously creative with them. When I discovered roasting, it was like a whole new world opened up. Roasting a vegetable makes it taste completely different and takes very little time…

If my form Isn't 100%, my knees let me know right away. Really feel like you are sitting back into it and get your weight back more on your heels. You should be able to wiggle your toes because they bear almost no weight.

This is quite possibly the silliest post I've read here! Enjoying it thoroughly.

1. Nasty 2. Feed it to the dogs. Seriously, I tried to make a salmon salad and it was inedible. The dogs appreciated it, however.

Buy variety, but not all at once, just from week to week. Try planning a menu for the whole week, then you can ensure that you will find ways to use up all the ingredients you bought. I am the only avocado eater in the house and I generally only use 1/8 of an avocado every morning. It might turn slightly brown, but I can…

I have knee pain when I don't get all of the weight into my heels on my squats. If you can't lift up your toes while you are down, your weight is in the wrong place and your butt isn't far enough back. Lunges pretty much always hurt my knees because they are hard for me to do. My solution is to do them much more slowly…

"you" don't have to figure anything. If you plug your ingredients in, MFP will enter all the macros and calories, add it all up and then tell you how many per portion. I just did it for tonight's dinner and it took me approximately 4 minutes. About the same time as it took you to compose, post, and read any responses.

I often walk for several hours. I might do 4-7 miles at a stretch, but I am still fat. It wasn't until almost 2 months ago when I started logging that I began to lose weight because of changes in my diet. I couldn't outwalk the number of calories I was taking in on a daily basis.

I've followed the Swank diet since 2004. Sometimes a little more closely than others. I remember reading about the best bet diet and the swank diet and I liked the hard science I saw in Dr Swank's peer reviewed, published research. What most impressed me was that 25 years after diagnosis, almost all of his patients who…

What about just pouring out the liquid contents of the crockpot and measuring/weighing that, then subtracting that value from a full bottle of dressing? Would that work?

I think it really depends on what your overall goals are. If your goal is just to drop weight, then it's working for you, but if one of your goals is to improve your health, then dropping some of the junk food would be a good start. I only looked at the last 3 days, but I don't think I saw a single piece of fresh fruit or…

About the length of your body and 2-3 feet in front and back is the max. I do 30DS in a small space between my couch and TV. It takes ups less space than a lot of other cardio DVDs.

Um, yeah. I hate zumba too. I did ballroom last year and loved it. I was not very good, but it was a lot of fun. I think I'm going to start that up again. I don't know how much of a workout it was, but I'm sure I burned a few during the cha-cha!
-
I've come to the realization that zumba is not for everybody. I did wii zumba a few times and hated every minute of it. I don't enjoy that kind of dancing at all and I looked silly and uncoordinated, but mostly I just didn't have any fun. Also, I think felt like I burned off about 3 m&ms worth of calories because you…

This. For the first time in my life, I'm in control, not the food. I just started a month ago, and it's like a weight has been lifted. I've also been doing some reading about emotional eating. Meditation and deep breathing are good alternatives to food, and the biggest one is finding other ways to self soothe (ie, a hobby,…

I cut up a head of cauliflower put it in a steamer in a pot on the stove with a couple of peeled, whole cloves (not bulbs!!) of garlic. Steam it for 10-15 min or till done. Dump the water used to steam. Dump the cauliflower and garlic cloves into the cooking pot. Add in a spoonful of mayo and a little milk. Using an…

My old coach told me that the reason it's so hard for women, is because of where our center of gravity is located as opposed to where men's is. Not that it's impossible. Me, I'm the loser who has to put her entire body weight on the assisted pullup machine just to get a few in. Of course, I've never actually stuck with it…

I'm a little south of you in the MB area. I don't bother with CSA's anymore because the farmer's markets are so plentiful. I live about 3 blocks from the monday market. I do have a fish share that I get through a group called local catch. I love, love, love it. I never know what I'm getting until a day or two before.…

I buy packaged, primarily because I'm specifically looking for ones that contain no nitrates. The only place I ever found that had deli meat that was fresh cut and didn't have nitrates was Wegmans.

I'm hoping for an answer too. Some days it's really hard to find a frequently used food, if I can find it all.
