Hi everyone. I'm not new to this but I am rededicating myself to my health and getting in shape again. After getting a new job with a lengthy daily commute and buying my first house it's been a busy year and a half. I have noticed that many of my MFP friends have dropped off the wagon so I'm looking for some new ones. I…

Yes...because this isn't WW. IMO, it's better. I have done both and prefer MFP much more, and I have done and continue to do better on MFP. I find it much easier to stick to, but that's just me. Fruits and veggies have calories, so why wouldn't you count them?
-
I am 5'6" but I hope you'll still allow me...I started at 180 back in November/December before I joined MFP. I lost 10 on my own and started on here at 170.8 January 11th. I'm at 153 now and my ultimate goal weight is 130. Please feel free to add me if you like...any of you. I am happy to support you!

You have posted pretty much this same thing in several forums already. Everyone keeps telling you to eat more and yet you do not do it. Nobody is going to tell you anything different so if you want to lose weight YOU NEED TO EAT MORE. End of story. Don't expect to lose weight any other way if you want to be healthy.

1200 is the recommended minimum amount to consume daily, however it also depends on your exercise. When you start MFP and enter your information it should give you a number so why don't you use that as a guide? I can promise you it isn't under 1000.

You need to repeat exactly this to him when you talk about it tonight. This is 100% honest and there's nothing wrong with letting him know what he said hurt you and has now made you feel insecure. He may not have meant it to come out that way. If he continues to act like a douche, you can always tell him that even though…

Mount St. Helens erupted a few months before I was born in 1980!

I LOVE this post! I moved about 6 months ago and had to pack all of my skinnier clothes away because there was NO WAY they fit then. I went closet shopping last week and literally found a whole "new" wardrobe. It cost me 25 pounds (since December) but it bought me 2 and sometimes 3 sizes smaller. I donated all of the…

This is a wonderful gesture! I just donated a bunch of my "too big" stuff last weekend. :flowerforyou:

Debbie - I am so sorry for your loss. Please make sure to take the time to grieve and take care of yourself emotionally as well as physically. That being said, the journey to getting healthy starts with a single step. Maybe keeping a written journal for yourself will be helpful as well as tracking on here. For example you…

The new shirt is cute! I definitely believe in rewards too. :) Congrats and keep up the good work!

I already sent you a request. Anyone else on this thread feel free to add me as well.

I work out 6-7 days per week. I rarely take a whole day off though. My "off day" usually still involves a brisk walk for at least a half hour. My gym sessions are usually 90-100 minutes daily. I start with cardio for 30ish minutes, weight train for another half hour, then finish with another cardio session to get the heart…

This almost brought a tear to my eye. Your story of triumph is truly inspiring. Congratulations to the both of you for committing to each other and this journey to a healthier life together. Amazing! :flowerforyou:

Wait! We are ignoring the fact that he is shaving his armpits? Clearly either a competitive swimmer or a giant *kitten*.....I vote *kitten*!

45 minutes of resistance intervals on the Arc Trainer and 30 minutes of strength training (chest, arms & back day)

Sorry I didn't check back on this thread sooner. I am not a member of any of the C25K groups on here. I never even finished the program when I tried it last year to be honest! I just ended up doing it on my own until I made it...

^^This is true^^ From personal experience also, yes it's more expensive. For example, bad weather affects crop returns, which then drive up the cost of fresh produce...

Under the Community tab, Choose Groups. Then search for C25K. You'll find it. Good luck!

"You're a daisy if you do!" "I'm here huckleberry" Both said by Doc Holliday in Tombstone, my favorite.

That is how I do mine. You can put each separate exercise below it just for your own notes, but it will not calculate individual rep calories burned. I'm not sure how accurate the MFP calorie count is for strength training but haven't found anything better yet. You can also use "aerobics" for your workout DVDs if they…

There are some websites that I have found have good recipes. skinnytaste.com Google "cooking with jax" dash magazine online has some decent ones too if you look Also, the recipes message board on here is good and if you browse the groups there is one called "The Cook" that is devoted to recipes as well. Hope that helps!…

I very much doubt that those who eat the same daily are jealous of your croissant. Rather, they might find the fact that you skipped a meal because you ate the croissant an unhealthy way to go about things. Most people either will exercise to gain those calories back/work the croissant into their day or just deal with the…

Thankfully I must go to a relatively normal gym by comparison. No really bad creepers or barefoot freaks at mine! There are several annoying people who I wouldn't mind kicking in the head most days, but otherwise pretty decent.

Congrats to you! I was wearing a size 14 in Nov/Dec of 2012 and now I'm back down into my size 10s that were sitting in the closet! Can't wait to shrink out of those too and get some smaller clothes!
