He is a rheumatologist not a dietician. Any doctor who advises a restrictive diet like this without cause needs to go brush up on their nutrition skills. It annoys me when I see that doctors have said this sort of thing. I have a sister with Celiac Disease and know how hard it is for her to maintain that diet while getting…

Thanks again Varda, I'll have to sit down and do some calorie-juggling math this weekend. Today I did C210K Week 11 Day 2. It's supposed to be 3x17 min runs but I decided to add an extra 3 min onto each set to bring it up to an hour. It felt pretty good despite a head wind in the second half, and at 60 mins I just kept on…

You're healthy, you look strong and you still look very feminine. But mums will always worry and I know from the experience of a friend who took up weights that her mum was concerned she'd scare off a potential partner, "no man wants to date a woman with bigger muscles than him" and all that nonsense. Your health is better…

Because so many people see skinny as the goal, and once you're there there's nothing else to do. it's these same people who are suckers for diet pills, master cleanses and fat wraps. Luckily you know better!

.25 miles. Almost a marathon! I wouldn't count that as exercise if it were me. I walk more around the house than that every day. Unless you're seriously mobility impaired then no, .25 isn't 'enough'

It's bad enough holding a plank for three minutes, but a WHOLE MONTH?? How are you supposed to eat? Sleep? Walk the dog? Ain't nobody got time for that.

It works the same way a gym membership works. You need to use it. Ps a quick flick through the Success Stories section would have given you an answer

If you're not willing to change your lifestyle any losses you have are unlikely to be sustainable. You want the good without the bad, and that's setting yourself up for failure.

A woman I worked with did the Master Cleanse before she got married. She went in to get her dress fitted, they had to take it in, then she gained it all back plus more in the four weeks before the wedding. In the photos I saw she looked like she was popping out of her dress, and she is now bigger than she was pre-Master…

Run. Find a C25K program, build yourself up to being able to run for 30 mins, and then continue 3x a week. It requires the initial investment of some running shoes (highly recommend you go to a specialist running shop to do this) but from then on all you need is a spare half hour to burn a few hundred calories. Combine…

Your diary isn't open so I don't know for sure but I'm willing to bet this is because you aren't eating enough.

Thought I'd dig this thread out. I also have someone on my FL who is doing this. In the last 10 days they have netted -2700 calories (that is not a typo), yet every day there are 10+ 'way to go' and 'so inspirational' comments on the diary entries. This is not someone who has a lot of weight to lose, and I am also not sure…

Tip for success (particularly for an ex-eating disorder sufferer): do not set it to -2kg a week, that will land you with a calorie goal of about 1200 and that is very restrictive and more likely to have you bingeing after a week. Set your deficit to -0.5kg a week and you will have enough calories to still enjoy food…

Thanks, that's a really good idea and I'll do something similar. Cashews (dark chocolate or plain) are also a good interim measure! The reason I'm having problems is until now I've been working with my sedentary TDEE calorie goal on MFP and then eating back all exercise calories, which means with my current 3x a week…

Awesome news about the sponsorship lilbee, and trying out shoes must be interesting. i just ordered another pair of my faithful Adidas shoes, this time in pink and purple - also ridiculously excited. Week 11 Day 1 of C210K today, this was the first 3x17 min set. No problems except another night of not possibly being able…

So eat the apple first then the candy. Or three apples.

Why does it matter what we or anyone else thinks your weight is?

Have you stopped drinking coffee? Stopped eating artificially-sweetened foods? Lowered your fiber intake? Had a break from exercise? Any of those can contribute to constipation. Rather than taking senna, which can cause cramping and is basically a laxative, try increasing fiber and water. That can usually improve things,…

Oh GOD why. There are no toxins that your body can't get rid of with a functioning liver, kidneys and digestive system. There is no magic cure and this toxin stuff is just bull****. Including each and every 'cleanse' that also claims the same. Eat right, do exercise, see weight loss.

Just saw this. Well done! Find yourself a boyfriend who loves you so much he can't stop contacting you.
-
This. Drop him. From past experience even if it kind of feels like a relationship from your end if he is acting like this there is no hope you can change things and you're better to get out now before it hurts you even more.

Still do it, see if there's a different from start to end even though you are drinking. This is what we all used to do while I was a competitive swimmer and sometimes with a hard two hour session even though I was drinking water throughout (and utterly sick of water by the end) there was still a loss that had to be…

Yes, it works both ways. Anorexics who go into recovery and achieve a normal weight tend to have an increase in libido and people who are normal weight and gain weight tend to have a decrease. Of course there are many many exceptions to this but it seems that having healthy weight in conjunction with healthy self-esteem is…

If professional help didn't work before then try again. Given the magnitude of the problem you are describing you need to get it addressed. When I was at university there was an Overeaters Anonymous group that was run through the health centre, perhaps something like that would be worth looking into. I also get that…

I have lost over twice the weight of our dog. I still find it exhausting when I am tired and he needs to be carried down the stairs.
-
I weigh before and after a run and drink the difference, on top of my other water intake for the day.

My boyfriend does this too on occasion. I usually make sure that I usually have some calories spare so I can have a little bit, and then I stop when I have had a small amount. I still find it hard when I've had enough to eat that day, I'm not hungry, and he digs out something yummy but I just remind myself of where I…

I'm a little confused as to how this adds to onl 1000 calories a week burned through exercise. That adds to 1550 if you go with the 250 calories for a fun workout, 1900 if you burn 600...?
