Yep, yep, love country music. Like hearing the stories that are told in songs. Going to see Miranda Lambert on March 15th. Can't wait!

This....and because I don't have the patience to walk. I want to go a certain distance and be DONE.

This ^^

I don't know if I'd consider eating an apple a 'meal' but that's just me. If I get too hungry I get nauseous, so I try to plan for something small between meals, be a protein bar, fruit, baked chips, or whatever.

I've started having weight watchers breakfast burritos (240 cals for 2 of them). Bought a big bag of them at Costco and they are packaged 2/pk so there is less temptation to 'just have another one'.

Welcome to MFP! While I haven't yet lost anyone close to me as you have, I can relate to all the changes going on at once to totally make life a stressful chaotic mess. Try to remember that you're human, you will make mistakes, but it doesn't define WHO you are.

Right there with ya in the same boat. I have been back on the wagon for a week and have actually gained a few pounds. Not sure what's going on but it's frustrating for sure.

While running starts out to be physical, a lot of it is mental, no matter what age you are. If you tell yourself you can or cannot do it, you're probably right. Best of luck to you all starting out...I've been there. :drinker:

It really depends on what you want to accomplish, how quickly you want to accomplish it, and if it's something you can keep up once you've met your goal. For me, I was running nearly every day, 3+ miles, plus weights and calisthenics. I looked GREAT! But that wasn't a level of exercise I wanted to keep doing (I was also a…

It took me 17 months to lose 100lbs....and then 15 months to put 20 back on. *sigh*.
-
How long have you been trying to lose weight? Just starting or been at this a bit? Are you losing at an acceptable (to you) rate?
-
Are you trying to lose or maintain weight? If lose, how much do yo have to lose? Is 1200 what MFP recommends? Are you exercising, and are you eating those exercise calories? How tall are you? MFP recommends 1940 calories a day for me, and I exercise 400+ calories a day as well. I'm 5' 10" and have about 20lbs to lose.

Another 'restarter' here. I lost 100 pounds over 17 months, but then decided I didn't want to log anymore and to 'just see what happens'. Between Oct 2012 and now I've gained back just over 20 pounds, and am restarting before I gain it all back. I actually blogged about my quest (I hate the word 'journey') and the last…

Welcome to MFP! I know the feeling about the obsessive....I've done that too. Unfortunately, I've found that if I'm not a wee bit off my rocker about it, I will (and have) gained weight. In fact, I just wrote a blog post about it: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/JoolieW68 Best of luck to you, and keep on keepin' on!

I have the easiest recipe! Mix together a box of any brand spice cake mix and a can of Libby's pumpkin pie pure. That's IT. Just those 2 ingredients. I make mini-muffins this way (a 24 mini-muffin pan) and they come to ~71 calories each. No eggs, milk, butter, etc. and they are GOOD!

I don't mind it if I don't have to go out in it..... but I live in West Michigan and work outside the home so I do have to go out in it. I hate being cold, at all, and the only exercise I do outside in the winter is shoveling snow. So it's a love hate relationship.

These are the things I eat for protein: Greek yogurt with a tablespoon of protein powder. Turkey pepperoni Skim or 1% milk String cheese or individual-packaged cheese slices Low sodium deli meats Baked/grilled skinless chicken Balance bars

The clothes and the boobs. Oh, and the whole having to continue exercising and eating healthy to maintain.

That because I'm tall (5' 10") I must have played basketball in high school. Wrong. Volleyball is much more fun.

The only suggestion I have for your hands is to get some thicker gloves. I had some gloves I used shoveling snow (2 pair at the same time, actually) and my fingers got so cold and hurt so bad I couldn't finish the driveway. My husband had a pair of gloves that I tried and they kept my hands and fingers toasty warm. I think…

Loved the show and glad to see Jillian back. Is she tough as nails? Hellz yes, but if you've watched the show from the beginning, she does lighten up as the show progresses. I think this first week is her way of weeding out the weak, those who are there to 'win' not change their lives. The ones who truly want to change…

Between the 4S and the 5 there are only 2 differences - the hardware (the 5 IS nicer that way) and 1 function where when taking a video with the 5 you can pull an individual photo out of the video. Otherwise the actual functions are all the same. The 5 is faster, but as mentioned, the battery is not great.

Very well said.

Wow....just....wow. Judgmental much?
-
Eyes, hands down.

Honey and Angie and Oliv , I love you. I will be 44 in a couple weeks.

Not even close. I still can't set

Oh, I sure do!
