Holding a crunch and basically doing anything with your legs will blow your abs up

If you watch closely you can see almost everyone in the videos takes breaks, and these are people who are in incredible shape. Also Shawn T's slacking backside is spending half the time not doing stuff. Just putting it in perspective.

Muscle is more dense that fat. So as you are building muscles it will keep the scale about the same but fat is going away. Losing fat is the goal of any weight loss program, and the scale does not accurately reflect this fact. Keep at it, it can take a month or two before you start losing exercise weight but the fat is…

Remember after you lose weight it takes a little bit for the skin to bounce back since it will have that deflated look. Which looks terrible and makes you look fatter. So during that period if the general shape stays the same it is going to look like you are heavier. If the scale says you are going down just recognize that…

Crippling depression combined with excessive alcohol and food consumption. Was what got me from 250 to 297. What got me to 250 was regular depression combined with a unhealthy relationship with food and an uncontrollable home life.

Tighten your chest strap. Seriously every time I am having problems I just tighten my chest strap and it works just fine Good problem to have IMO

Insanity is less than an hour a day and you can do that in your apartment, just clear out some space and you are good to go.

If you think you can maintain your diet everyday without burning out, dont have a cheat day If you think you will burn out if you maintain your diet without breaks, have a cheat day If you are the type to get derailed by eating more, dont have a cheat day If you are the type that can eat a little more one day and be fine?…

i find it funny how people are getting upset because a person is trying to say that being "curvy" does not exempt someone from being obese. Being obese is not a OPINION, it is a fixed medical level of fat. So she has a problem with people saying "I am not Obese, I am curvy" Dont understand what people are getting their…

You know that obese is a medical guideline and definition. The others are opinions They are not mutually exclusive. So you can be obese and curvy

I am currently doing p90x followed by insanity in the morning taking the recovery day for both off. So it is 5 days a week instead of 6.

Think about your body like a rubber band. The farther you stretch it the more force it is going to bounce back with. However if you just stretch it a little bit it will barely move. If you slowly stretch it out it will not bounce back at all. It is better to take it in steps, establish the foundation than do some radical…

I finished round one a few weeks ago, and the results were amazing. I gained a crazy amount of muscle while my weight only went down a few pounds...so even more fat was lost. My blood pressure dropped to 108/66. That is ****ing amazing. I am currently doing p90x and insanity at the same time and am getting muscle like no…

I have heard cocoa butter helps

Dont compare to the last time you were at the gym, compare to when you started.

Willpower is a finite resource, it needs to be recharged. You were trying to do two willpower draining things at the same time. I would focus on the smoking first and just keep track of the food you eat. Don't worry as much about how much you are eating, just keep track of it. In the process you might eat a little less,…

Invest in some new exercise equipment? I got myself a heart rate monitor as a reward for really being invested in my workout program and making it longer than I ever had.

The rock is mine. Maybe slightly bigger pecs than in this picture, but other than that about the same. Think I have the body shape for it

Depends on the type of person you are. I found that for myself I reacted to outside criticism with a "**** you I am gonna show your *kitten*". So I mentally portrayed the negative thoughts as coming from a seperate entity that just occupied my head. So when he/she(sometimes it was a she) said you cant do it fatty, my gut…

Thing is, we were designed to go a very long time with minimal amounts of food. So the whole under bmr problem doesn't sound quite right to me. However I would argue that it is not the lack of calories that is the problem, rather a lack of adequate nutrition. If you don't get enough protein, your body will start to…

Well a lot of people have a gluten allergy/sensitivity that goes undiagnosed(I am going to an appointment this week to check) so if you have an allergy many of those symptoms could be present. It is not a problem with gluten itself, but your individual allergy to it.

Also, unless your extra skin is paper thin it means there are stubborn body fat deposits left. But I have heard moisturizing can help as well.

I figure spending about 2/3+ of my life being obese is enough and I want to get that number down. Also I want to have kids someday and A.want to have the energy to play with them, and B. Want to live to see them grow up.

I have lost over 20-25 pounds of fat, but only lost 5-10 on the scale. But I am going for super intense workouts. The scale is not a representation of body fat percentage, it is just a representation of your relationship with gravity. Weight loss is usually about BF% so yea.....

After finishing my first round of insanity, I starting doing p90x followed by insanity in the mornings. Also do clubhouse workout at night, but in effect getting in shape is my job right now(as well as studying.)

I wanna be that guy who runs around without a shirt on and short shorts.

I would get a HRM and see where your heart rate is at any given exercise. Best way to know if you are slacking or pushing to hard IMO. I starting doing two pretty intense cardio workouts back to back and use my HRM to make sure I keep working hard.

I always find that the second workout of the day really ups my heart rate. It gets much higher quicker, however that requires that I got my heart rate pretty high, or burned a lot of energy in the first workout.
