http://faithandcomposition.wordpress.com/2014/02/07/when-mothering-is-hard-and-no-one-sees/ Just saw this, and had to share. Just an idea of what stay at home parents deal with. Not even the entire reality, but just a glimpse.

SMH! Did the same thing!

I'll try again.

You don't get it, because you don't have kids. My question is, why do you want kids, just so you can let someone else raise them? If you have family to help take care of them while you have your career, then great. Many people don't have that. Are you going to let your kids stay in a daycare all day, while you work 8-12…

Well, I lift all the weights, eat all the foodz, n look hawwtt!!! I do what I want!!! :drinker: :smokin:

You can look into it, but I'm pretty sure ellipticals are easier on your knees, and burn more calories. I'd like to have one, but I already have a treadmill, and limited space. I do like my treadmill though, 'cuz I can do a leizurely walk, or run, plus it has automatic incline, which can really work my legs. ;)

Belly fat is usually the last thing to go, since it's usually the first place many of us gain it. I can't say that you'll have a great looking stomach, but mine is starting to look pretty awesome. I've got my bodyfat% down to 18.3%. I weight 140lb's, and have 114lb's of muscle, according to the body fat analyser at my gym,…

I'm 34yo. Osteoarthritis here!!! :drinker: Lol. Really, it's not such a big deal. Yes, there is chronic pain, but you learn to deal. It doesn't hurt all the time. Kind of comes n goes. Comes more with exercise, but I do it anyways. Haven't really been to a doctor, except for my back. Went through 3 spinal blocks that…

For me, personally, I love Zumba. I have some days when I feel like I'm bored with it, but it's really just me being lazy. I just get up, go to the gym, and do it anyways, and when I'm done, I feel great!!! You can still add other things you like to do, and switch it up. Find what you like. You could try boxing, or…

Hot wings with the celery sticks they come with, dipped in ranch or blue cheese. Yumm!!!! There's your veggies.

Scroll up n read the other posts. Then read the link provided from helloitsdan. Very helpful.

I get the cheap protein powder, so I try to help it out with sugar free jello pudding mix, maybe some peanut butter, or PB2, sometimes I'll add some flax seed. My new favorite is 1TBSP of hershey's chocolate syrup.... How to make a butterfinger flavored protein shake: 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 TBSP sugar free…

There is nothing that will "target" your stomach. It will go away with weight loss. You can add ab exercises, to strengthen your core, but it will not give you visible abs, until the overlying layer of fat is gone. Good luck. Just keep truckin'. Lol. ;)

Yeah, that sounds about right. Make sure you're logging your food accurately. A lot of the data on here is inaccurate, so check labels when possible. Weigh your food. I eat 1,750-1,850 and lose. I'm 5'3" and 141lb's. If you're heavier than me, you'll definately burn more. So you could increase to ATLEAST 1,800.

Alabama, it's almost 8am, been up since 6:30am. I would be in the bed sleeping comfortably, but my 2yo wants to be awake. :(
-
I lose easily at 1,750, although I also lift weights, so that helps. I would try 1,500, like the other poster suggested. Then see how that goes. You probably could eat more, but you should probably increase calories slowly, since your metabolism is probably slowed quite a bit, from eating so little. Good luck!…

Thank you. :))) I was gonna suggest weight lifting. I lift heavy weights, and do machines. I've been doing mostly machines for a couple years now, and in the last 6+ months, I've been lifting heavy weights. You won't get bulky, like some women believe, (not saying you do). I'm finally starting to see some ab definition. No…

I honestly, can't relate, unfortunately, but I'm glad you realize you have a problem, and that you're seeking help for that. However, at 5'9", 141lb's is a healthy weight. I'm 5'3" and 141lb's, and I look great, other than my belly, which I'm still working on. My goal weight is 130lb's, but like I said, I'm only 5'3". Have…

Ehhh...what can I say. Kids are in bed, n I have nothing better to do. This thread is keeping me entertained.

The medical field will keep that in mind when you need us. Perhaps maybe when you break your neck trying to show off on MFP again.
-
Wow, you really are full of yourself, aren't you? Sorry, that wasn't precise enough for you. I guess it's good enough for the medical field, but not for your weight lifting comparison, huh.
-
Ummmm...no. 300kg x 2.2 = 660lb's. I thought you knew everything?

Salad dressing, if you use it, typically has TONS of sodium, (not literally, lol). The water weight retention is only temporary, until you can get your sodium intake back to a normal range, and flush it out with water. It's very difficult to get sodium intake under control. I wouldn't stress so much about it. As long as…
-
Unless you have a medical reason to reduce your sodium, you really don't need to. Of course it is better to keep your sodium below 2,300-2,500, but most of us here have a difficult time staying under. If you have BP issues, it can raise your blood pressure, but if you are healthy, it will have minimal effect. It can cause…

As a nurse, I know most doctors don't know a whole lot about weight loss, or nutrition. Not to mention, one doc's advice may vary greatly compared to another. They get a quick review on nutrition, and it's based on the government's food pyramid, which you could look up online, but I, personally wouldn't bother. I've been…

I beg to differ. I wear a bodymedia device, and I burn, on average around 2,600 calories. Some days I burn as much as 3,000. When I eat 1,800 calories a day, I'll lose 1lb/week. I am almost at goal, and 1/2lb/week really is recommended for me. Edited; PS- I'm 5'3", 141lb's, and PPS-Eating at such a deficit for that "extra…
