  • Yeah, and also people activity levels throughout the day and metabolism makes a big difference. I'd be happy on 1300-1400, I don't need extra food, but I know some people need more just because the way their bodies are.
  • That seems to relate to what @sarah_willy and @ugofatcat was talking about. Macros and volume are things that need to be paid attention to, but I know people who have said it and meant calories.
  • This makes me feel much better. I'm sure if I treated my diary in a similar way I'd have similar stats to yourself. For example if I add my exercise to my calorie allowance it's about 1600 instead of 1300. But that is if I do all my exercise I plan to do, and I can't promise that so I do it my way. I guess it all comes…
  • I know what you mean, but I do mean calories for the sake of this argument.
  • I completely agree! It's almost like shaming people for eating so few calories. Edit: I'm not saying everyone who posts that they 2500 calories is, especially not on MFP. I mean on youtube etc.
  • That's an interesting way at looking at it. I guess that's what people are talking about. This is one of the things that is going in my 'should I start buying protein?' list. I've been avoiding it for ages. Being vege all of my protein makes me pass wind! :D tmi!
  • Thank you, I'll have a read.
  • Yeah, I am, slowly, but like I said i go over now and then so it probably equates to about 1400 a day. It is 1lb a week. I'm not racing to lose. I eat the exercise back if I'm hungry on the day but I usually save them for the weekend. The question about eating more to lose more is more a general question, not that specific…
  • Congratulations so far. You look so good! This is very inspiring as I'm the same weight as your before picture! I was worried having a goal below 130lb wouldn't like right, but you look fabulous. How long did it take? And what sort of exercise did you do?
  • Pizza, every time.
  • no problem!
  • Condiments and at least one type of cheese.
  • I think I understand what you mean. You're not looking at the calories as such, just making sure you're finding the foods on the system and logging them? It's technically still calorie counting but without the maths :) Also, if this is the case, just make sure you're weighing food and choosing accurate items on the food…
  • If you look at it that 3500 calories as a lb of body weight (according to others, I have no source). Then a run, for example, burns 500 calories, you would need to go for a run about 7 times to lose that pound. The same happens if you restrict your calories. How many calories you want to burn depends on how much you'd like…
  • I occasionally liked the idea of doing pilates or yoga but in practice that was rare lol. I'm just too lazy.
  • Also, nerdwriter, crash course and school of life are good, but educational  <3
  • H3H3 and Ethan & Hila. My favourite people on the internet, let alone youtube!
  • Sorry to hear, I can't help, I'm an Architectural Assistant :p
  • Recently I've had paneer and broccoli butter curry; bean chilli; lentil and vegetable lasagne; black bean, vegetable and salad wraps; and quinoa enchilada casserole. Soups are good too for batch making but I don't find them filling unless they have lentils or chickpeas in. Vege fry ups; cheesy pasta; mushroom stir fry;…
  • Interesting read, upsetting but interesting.
  • I have the same problem but have over 25% estimated body fat. I read somewhere that if you have lower body fat you'll naturally have less cellulite. I can't remember where and it might be rubbish, but I guess it makes sense. So I'm aiming on lowering that and seeing if it helps. Not sure if that's helpful or not.
  • I guess everyone will come in and say this, but if it's fat you're trying to lose on your stomach you'll have to lose it from everywhere. I don't believe you can spot reduce. If you're looking to strengthen muscle in the area then there is a whole range of exercises you can do. Pilates is good at strengthening the core…
  • Only a few times while I've been out running, always by people in cars or lorries, either honking or shouting. Don't let it bother you, they're either sad men or people showing off to others in the car. Plus, they're gone in a few seconds.
  • Wow you guys are so active! I just kickbox twice a week for 90mins on Monday and Wednesday. The session includes strength training and cardio. I also try and get a long walk or a pilates session in as well at the weekend.
  • I guess you could give it a go and see how you find it personally, as everyone likes different things.
  • I love them every way! In Chachouka is my favourite. Hard boiled sandwiches with mayonnaise, fried egg sandwiches <3 , scrambled with baked beans and sausages, frittatas, quiches, omelettes with anything like mushrooms or spring onions, poached on toast, hard boiled in salads or as a snack, on pizza... the list is long.…
  • I agree with this, but if you're determined to keep low carb, maybe up proteins to keep you full. If you have your cravings in the afternoon, having your carb allowance at lunch might help?

  • Hi there, you can add me if you like. I've just seen you're interested in moving towards a plant based diet. Even though I'm only vegetarian I'm happy to answer any questions or have a chat :)
