  • I'd agree with most of the crowd, join now. If you are looking to start losing after New Years, it is at least a good start to figure out how the website works and what realistic meals and calories counts are. The Christmas season is a bit crazy to start, so I can understand the want to hesitate.
  • If nothing elseI enjoy my elliptical for the feeling that maybe when I shed a few more pounds, I'll be able to run.
  • I looked at hockey jerseys this weekend (known to be large and loose fitting. The clerk told me they had one I was looking for, but it was only in XXL, as though that would be too big for me.
  • Are you getting enough salt? I used to work as a delivery driver, during the summer I would have to make sure my salt level was high enough or I would sweat it all out and no matter how much water I drank it would never quench my thirst.
  • I heard a story (so it may not be true) that many of these companies serve their coffee at extremely hot tempuratures because it takes you longer to drink it. The end result is less refills.
  • Road trips and camping seem to do the same to me, I did a lot better when the weather was bad.
  • I can't give up Cheeseburgers, I just have to accept the crazy amount of Calories and either eat appropriately around it and make sure I am working out that day.
  • New NSV! A year ago I did a bike ride in the Penticton, BC area called the Kettle Valley Railway. I thought it sounded like something I could do, it was 3% grade for 19 km, half of us rode down the hill and half rode up (I joined the group riding up). In the end, I did not make it, I rode up halfway and then rode back down…
  • I keep referring to it as that crazy fad diet that comes in and out of fashion, "Eat better and Exercise".
  • It looks like the 2000 step max on accupedo is the free trial version
  • Great job, I'm ironically looking forward to being "overweight" some day soon.
  • I would agree with the concept of carrying groceries comes under activity/lifestyle so it isn't exercise. I walk home from my bus for about 10 minutes every day, that doesn't get counted, on the other hand if I spend 3 hours doing yardwork I consider that to be beyond my normal routine and count it as a form of exercise.…
  • Wow, what a jerk, I would just try to be polite about it. Tell him sorry, but it's your lunch/snack.
  • I've started making homemade pizzas usually with lower calorie crusts (panini wraps), then once in a rare mood I will splurge and have a restaurant pizza trying to keep everything under my calorie goal.
  • Yogurt and frozen fruit have become my staple breakfast. I like a variety of food, but measuring cups/spoons and a kitchen scale are absolute must-haves.
  • I've been eating a lot of yogurt for breakfast, my wif elikes greek yogurt (it has more protein). Plain yogurt with banana is good, you can add some low sugar cereal or mueslie as filler.
  • I only record my weight once a week (Sunday mornings), but I find I get out the scale and check once a day or two days understanding there will be some large fluctuations due to time of day.

  • I put frozen berries in, it keeps my yogurt cool until breakfast time, then I add about two tablespoons of flavoured just to add some flavour/sweetness.
  • I would agree stick with it, when I increased my exercise level I stayed even on the scale. My other piece of advise would be if you are using the database beware of questionable entries. Often it seem people have accidentally entered the items wrong or they are just far too hopeful. Either way it can make some costly food…
  • British Columbian, stuck in Alberta
  • My wife started on the site, so I decided to join too. I definately helps, we're on the same page at meals and can discuss what we are doing as we go along.
  • I'm guilty on the fast food as well, some of the healthier quick places I've found are Extreme Pita and the taco salad at Taco Time. I would say Chinese Takeout is the worst.
  • My wife is a big fan of Stevia as well, you can usually find it in most popular grocery stores. For coffee and tea I still use sugar, it's only 15 calories for a teaspoon, overall I don't mind those calories.
  • Call me another crazy Canadian, but its not a sone, I watch a period of hockey (roughly 30 minutes) to work out. The extra adrenaline yelling at my team or refs helps with the workout
  • My wife is Wheat intolerant, possibly gluten intolerant (not diagnosed). A lot of grocery stores have small gluten free sections, usually a very small section somewhere in the store, not always in the health food section. If you are avoiding wheat product I can warn you to watch out for Kamut and Spelt, they are still…
