  • I have a Polar FT4 and LOVE it. And, I actually researched users on fitnesspal before I bought it and it seemed that this one was a favorite. I have never heard of the Garmin so I can't say if it is better.

  • I have a Polar FT4 (watch with chest strap) and it is AWESOME!!! I am 211 lbs and did 48 minutes of Zumba tonight and burned 349 calories. I have noticed that the watches without the chest strap overestimate the calories burned, some by double the amount.

  • Polar FT4. I bought it 2 weeks ago on sale for $52 from HeartRateMonitorsUSA.com. They have excellent prices & no shipping fees. This HRM comes with a strap but it seems to be more accurate than the "Watch only" types. I LOVE it!!!!
  • Also, if you do not have one, buy a heart rate monitor with a strap! I was overcalculating my exercise burn and it threw off my daily total so I was eating too much. I bought a Polar FT4 last week and it makes a ton of difference.

  • I just purchased a Polar FT4 HRM and the calorie burn is slightly different than MFP #'s. Some exercises are lower, some are higher. Get an HRM and you won't have to guess.
  • I have been doing Zumba for about 2 years. Classes at my church and also DVD's. I LOVE it!! I do not like the twisting motions in some of the moves so I alter them slightly so my knees won't hurt. I also do Jillian Michaels DVD's and so the Zumba is a nice break and a fun way to get those Cardio minutes in. =)
