NO, you don't have depression as badly as others do. The fact that you can see some reason to SUCK IT UP long enough to work out proves this. People here are talking about struggling to maintain the will to live. It is flat out dishonest of you to compare yourself to them. I read your profile. You don't get to claim to…

I skip breakfast. I am not hungry in the morning. I tried forcing myself to eat breakfast and found it made me want to eat more throughout the day. It really is ideal for me to avoid that meal. Then I have lunch like a pauper and dinner like a prince. Cuz I don't eat much overall.

I am more gassy when I eat more fresh fruit and veg but not to the point of discomfort. However, the only time I got gas so bad that it hurt was when I quit chewing nicotine gum and replaced it with sugar free gum with sugar alcohols like xylitol. That was so painful that I refused to even try to hold it in. I switched to…

That didn't sound like excuses to me. That sounded like some legitimate stuff that got your attention more than weight loss and it's good that it did. Don't beat yourself up or feel like you have failed. You are doing really well. This is where your motivation went: http://youarenotsosmart.com/2012/04/17/ego-depletion/ You…

Of course you can add me. I've been. The food is delicious and light. It's very easy to go vegetarian there without even trying to. And the people, oh my! The people! The only other place I've seen such lovely people was Nepal.

My sister and I are the exact same height. We both lift. At one point, we each put on the same jeans which fit us both about the same then got on the scale and saw a 15lb difference (I was higher). I think it is our skeletons. She is built like the love child of a ballerina and a bird.I am build like...put it this way...I…

I am not great at walking in heels but I still love to do it, though only on certain occasions. I am 5'9" so heels make me very tall. I even have a pair of platform heels. It's like being on stilts. It's all very circus funhouse and I enjoy that. It also gives my lower legs a good workout.

My personal rule of thumb is, if you feel like exercising, you aren't too sick to do it. Have fun!

A photograph is two dimensional which makes it tricky already. The next problem is lighting. Overweight people have fewer of those subtle indents and valleys and lines in the topography of their faces. This is another way we perceive thin or fat in a two dimensional pictures, by noticing the shadows. But, if you use a…

You would be right if this thread hadn't started out with a death threat. It did become quite positive after that. AFTER that.

Your body will need more calories to maintain the temperature it requires if you make yourself cold. BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT, in my experience, you're going to get very hungry. You will be much hungrier than you would get if you had exercised those calories off.

My father in law recently found out he is prediabetic. So, we're going to have a very healthy Easter dinner. I'm hosting and I'll be preparing baked cod, a sweet potato mash and sauteed mustard greens. For a treat, I intend to make some hot cross buns, European style without the sugar frosting.

I can't believe you are using that thread to support your point. Did you read the whole thing? Eating below your BMR will not arrest weight loss. That claim violates basic laws of physics.

Weigh it without the peel. Only weigh the part you eat.

My Aunt's BBQ shrimp with a loaf of real New Orleans french bread. This may be the only thing I would break my gluten taboo for. This, BTW, is BBQ shrimp. There is no barbecuing involved in it's preparation.…

I believe we also established that degrees are irrelevant. Your local dealer should also work just fine.

My BP is that low. It's hereditary. My whole family has that.

Cutting wheat and refined sugar out of my diet made me lose weight in that it caused me to lose interest in food. There is research that suggests refined sugar does increase hunger. But, I have also seen tangential benefits that have convinced my that my body doesn't tolerate gluten well. So, it is also possible that I was…

My sister was bulemic. My best friend whom I've known since Jr. High was a heroin addict. Those are people to whom I was very close and had a great deal of influence over. There was nothing I could do in either case, really. With my best friend, I had to cut off all contact and we didn't speak for almost a decade. That was…

Cr@p! I didn't know he had such creds. And he diagnosed me as a moron, too. That's...like...in my file now, isn't it?

I think it is silly and messy to always include eveybody's entire quote but, if it bothers you, I'll do it. I have no idea what you think I butchered, though. There are people who are scared to not mop their floors. Yes. Normal, rational people who feel like the cleanliness of their house reflects on them and somebody…

Aaaaaaand this is where you go off the rails. Orthorexia is an obsessive disorder. It describes an inordinate preoccupation with controlling your diet. Having rules about what you eat or deciding to never eat a certain food doesn't even come close to being obsessive. That is just making decisions. That's all that is.…

I'm sorry but this isn't true. It was well known that the earth was round. There was already ample evidence of this. The earth casts a circular shadow on the moon and ships appear sail first on the horizon. The only reason so few people trusted Colubus to sail around the earth was because everybody believed he was…

I think the opposite is true. Healthy, natural food will contain a good amount of insoluble fiber which your body can't digest. The fact that you can't digest it is exactly why it is good for you and recommended. If you don't have insoluble fiber, your feces is dense and gummy and doesn't move easily through your digestive…

Who needs science? Sixty-two thousand four hundred repetitions make one truth.

Hey, save the science jargon for the lab, Professor Technical.

I'll fight about anything. I did debate in High School. A lot of my fellow atheists complain about how so many Christians try to proselytize but not me. I invite Jehovah's witnesses into my home and make them lemonade. "I couldn't disagree with you more. How lovely. Please have a seat." I don't know. Maybe I was raised…
