Mom was told her type 2 had turned to type 1 after a time on insulin when she had some test and became completely insulin dependent. Ive not heard of type 2 turning into type 1 - however it is relatively common that type 2 progresses from being tablet controlled to also needing insulin. it is still type 2 though Because it…

A single day or so in isolation - no. if you are unwell for a day or so or fasting for some reason or go to bed early and miss dinner - doesn't matter. if you are consistently under eating and have no appetite and are losing weight unintentionally or way more than you expect - see a doctor.

That once you lose the weight to increase increase your activity to an hour of more of moderate to vigorous activity per day, to halt weight regain. Your post had a lot of very good points - but just on this one - I would say that is more excercise than most people do, maintaining weight or not. Me personally - have weaned…

yes - and I agreed those things i n excess will cause issues - but so will anything in excess if it takes you way over appropriate calories or crowds out other nutrition nobody needs a podcast to understand that.
-
Only these foods: excessive sugar, salt, caffeine, processed foods, and man made noñ-nutrient foods cause illness I dont agree with that at all. all of those foods can be part of a healthy diet and do not cause illness. Obviously in excessive calorie amounts you will gain weight and obviously if you eat these to exclusion…

Ok, I'm not disagreeing with that - my point really was the " I must have lost weight, I feel so much better" even when the scale and measurements are saying otherwise. and the " just because my BMI is 40 doesnt mean I'm not a healthy weight, BMI is nonsense" by people who are totally not the elite body builder outliers to…

BMI is one of the worst metrics for you to track. It's meant as a population average. It doesn't take into account individual gender, age, muscle mass, etc. Your metrics should be the scale, how your clothes fit, periodic pictures and measurements, how you feel, etc. I don't agree with this - I think one of the worst…

I'm not sure what you mean by that - posters answered you, isnt that a 2 (and more) way conversation? Both posters also gave personal insights, not just copy/paste generic sentences and Ann invited you to do the same. Eating poorly can obviously lead to diseases - obesity related diseases if poorly means too many calories,…

for most people it is a good guide as to whether you are a healthy weight. some people can be healthy weight bit outside the upper limits, particularly young fit men, but not many people are going to be healthy weight in officially BMI obese numbers. elite body builders maybe - but I assume that is not you. however you…

"tried low carb, no carb, no sugar, keto, intermittent fasting" I think you are focussing on the wrong things as far as weight loss is concerned. Bottom line is just the calorie amount -not whether it is IF, Keto ,etc etc Given you have seen doctors galore, I am assuming you have been tested for thyroid issues etc Yes you…

I dont think there is anything wrong with being a grazing type eater - I do that too and find it works better for me than large meals of course the total calorie intake still needs to be right for the day but things like low calorie veggie sticks or small peices of fruit - they should be easy to fit into any calorie…

PS you currently have a BMI of 22.8. why are you wanting to lose weight? Is that really the right goal for you?
-
It will depend what you told the app you want to do - so it will have your stats and then depending if you said you want to lose/gain 1/2 lb, 1lb or 2lb per week it will give you calories for that goal if you said you want to maintain it will give you calories to do that.

no degrees in chemistry needed. My mum made home made mayo for years. it separated in the bottle, not sure why - but a good shake before using it fixed that in a jiffy. all those sort of things - jam, sauces, chutney etc - people make at home - I don't have the time or the inclination but many people do.
-
but the ad said causes weight in millenial women - they are not retired age group.
-
yes, some people who are retired or shift workers - but seems an interesting marketing pitch when most people wouldn't do that i n the first place. Especially not "milennial women" who wouldnt be in retired age group.
-
Me personally, no - I don't go to gyms and I dont drink protein shakes or smoothies or any of those sort of drinks. I'm not sure ' but you can make it cheaper at home' is a non selling point though - I can make a coffee cheaper at home, I can make meals cheaper at home etc - but I still buy them sometimes out of home.
-
Devils advocate here - I think we can become too focussed on calorie tracking and measuring as THE WAY Sure ,there is good advice on here that people sometimes ignore - but conversely there is also bad advice - people answering queries with 'sugar is poison' or IF or keto or whatever is THE answer Admittedly usually…

but who has the luxury of waking up at 10am?? some shift workers perhaps but I would venture most people wake up before then anyway

if we make it too prescriptive do we not put people off posting (me included) ? after all isnt it just a fun thread?
