isnt that a tad misleading? Isnt maternal request different to medical recomendation?

Is not choosing the day you give birth (or at least choosing between a couple of options) reasonably common with elective caesarians?
-
it makes me irate because it is trivialising and misusing a serious issue for commercial purposes and no doubt, intended to target vulnerable people for some scamming nonsense.

No

if you are on dialysis you really should be following what your health professionals advise Is this nutritionist part of your renal team?

The alternative for the diabetic patients is insulin or not achieving good blood sugar control or putting up with side effects of oral medication. ( of course most diabetics don't have side effects from oral meds but inability to tolerate oral meds is a PBS criteria for Ozempic. ) Regardless of what reasons are behind the…

Correct - I think someone on 1200 calories ( although nothing to suggest OP is on 1200 calories) can fit in 160 calories of ' just because I enjoy it' food without short-changing themselves nutritionally.
-
just trying to stick on topic, not drift into tangents. You seem to be taking that very personally - it wasnt addressed at you in particular. threads can just drift away from original question - which of course then doesnt answer the question asked I'm not saying any more on that - or will cause a thread drift into who…

^^^ no, not really - fitting Oreos into your calories while dieting was OP's question - not whether we like them ourselves
-
I disagree. If one uses 10% of one's allowance on Oreos that leaves plenty of wiggle room for good nutrition. 90% good nutrition diet would be fine I see thread has now morphed into whether we like taste of Oreos ourselves - but that wasn't the question.

Yes there is a scarcity. At least here in Australia and as I understand it worldwide. We are in a scarcity, at least until supplies catch up with demand but that isnt the case now. I didn't say diabetics vs obese people were 2 separate polarised groups I did say PBS criteria in Australia is diabetics for whom oral…

well of course the manufactures are trying to address the shortage - would be poor business sense not to. Question is whether it is ethical now when there is a shortage - not about later when that problem has been resolved. and reality now is if you dont deny obese people just wanting it for weight loss then diabetics who…

I get what posters are saying about lifestyle changes for weight loss. However for type 2 diabetics, yes they may need to stay on it for life, even with weight loss and behaviour changes. Not all type 2 diabetics are overweight anyway. Yes the long term risks may be unknown - but the long term risks of poorly controlled…

It's OK to spend some calories on things just because you enjoy them as long as your overall diet is reasonably nutrionally sound. 159 calories ( 3 oreos at 53 calories each) is easy enough to fit into any calorie allowance leaving plenty of room for higher nutrition items as well.
-
Took me 10 months to lose 10 kg ( about 22 lb)
-
Didn't I read about it in my TV guide just this morning?
-
I dont see any need to stick with zero Oreos. If OP is calorie counting and her calorie allowance is x, it is easy enough to fit 2 Oreos into that, if they are 53 calories each. Easy enough to fit 3 in if she wants to and easy enough to fit in other nutritional foods so your diet is nutritionally sound - that can include 2…

Anything not on the PBS here is called a private script PBS capped price covers most medications, people dont need health insurance for them - sometimes people want something for perfectly legitimate reasons - eg a vaccination they do not meet funded criteria for - and they get this on a private script and pay full price.
-
thanks.
-
That is a very good chart. However this is assuming 65 is a reasonable goal If you are, for example, 200cm tall, it is not.
-
I don't think anyone was talking about people doing that. I know medical systems obviously vary by country - but here in Australia it is PBS ( pharmacetical benifits scheme ) approved and therefore at PBS subsidised price, for diabetics for whom oral medication is not sufficient. People can get it on a private script ie…
