I started getting serious, about the last week in March.... I'm on a 139 day streak on MFP and I believe that's my starting point. I don't have calendar in front of me at the moment to count back but that's when I started logging everything in faithfully to have some numbers to crunch. I was around 270 last October though…

I use a regular standing one....at first it was hard but it gets easy quite fast. Start at a low level such as 1. Use the manual program options then as the weeks go by increase the intensity. But If I were you, just focus on a number for how many calories you want to burn, say 500 and get there. I go by the machine's…

Don't focus on crunches, trust me! Focus on losing the fat first. I think you're headed in the right direction. I know men and women have different body types but it's still all the same science. Focus on cardio, cardio, and more cardio. I highly recommend the elliptical machine until maybe after you drop 30 pounds or more…

I don't know how serious your heart condition is by I also have a pretty serious heart condition myself and of course I'm only speaking from my own experience but you're doing fine by just working on the elliptical machine. I stayed on the elliptical machine for the first 2 and a half months of my workout journey and…

Let's do this! I'm on here everyday as well.

"Bad" may be a poor choice of word but I think most people get the point. That's why I also gave an example of cutting calories out of diet is easier then exercising and burning the same amount of calories at the gym.

Just get back on track starting tomorrow and everything will eventually even itself out. Your weight fluctuates from day to day anyway depending on several factors such as water intake/retention, and most likely you'll be fine as long as you don't continue to overeat. Weigh yourself at the same time each day, in the…

Definitely not pointless. I've lost over 50 pounds counting calories and I also work out 6-7 days a week and am pretty active. Like others have said, you can't outrun a bad diet no matter how active you are. What's easier to do, to cut out 300 calories from a meal or to burn 300 calories at the gym? And that's the answer…

No doubt! I'm all for making new friends on MFP.

Three years ago, I lost 25 pounds after having a health scare and then committing myself to eating better working out. Soon enough, my old habits came back and I gained 20 of those pounds back. I rededicated myself again, lose weight, and then go back to my old habits and gain weight back again. This cycle went on for at…

I'd have no problem accepting them. The more active friends you have, the merrier when it comes to MFP and staying motivated to lose weight.

As others have said, if you're going to log your food with MFP, you really don't need weight watchers in my opinion. I at one point in time thought about signing up for WW as well but discovered MFP is basically WW without fees. Counting points is the same as calories, although to me counting calories is much easier. Just…

I concur with this post! All valid points and to be honest all of the advice you'd need to follow to lose weight. Throw in some exercise and you're good to go. It really is as simple as that. And weigh yourself daily to help keep you motivated and see if what you're doing is working or not so that you can sustain the…

I don't usually buy lingerie for my significant other because we don't need it, lol...but if I were I'm sure that she wouldn't mind since it would be something different.

You look great! Definitely a motivating story for others like myself trying to lose weight, although my reasons are more health related.
