Week 1 Challenge: As we all know, we do not always see results on the scale. This week I challenge everyone to do a baseline fit test. Here is the challenge. Complete the following sometime during the week: Timed mile (bike, run, walk, swim) How many can you do in a minute - jumping jacks - sit ups - push ups - squats -…

This thread will stay open for another week or so for people to record final results! I hope to see everyone continue on our SPRING to Summer challenge!
-
For anyone interested in continuing, I posted a new spreadsheet in a new thread under announcements.
-
I didn't quite reach my goal but I am down from the beginning of the year so I am happy.
-
Just a reminder, This Friday is the last weigh in for this challenge. I do plan on starting up another challenge "Spring into Summer" 3 months. Let me know if you are interested in participating.

Still have 31 miles to go to even get to 100 before the end of the month which is only 6 more days. I am going to try but I am also in a sort of "rest" period before my race on Sunday so I don't want to push it too much. I would have easily hit the 100 this month if I wasn't sick all last week. I am going to do my best to…

Hey all, ended up sick last week so today was the first time I got in a run. I will definitely be way short of my 164 mile goal (which I expected) and probably a little short of the 100 miles I need to not fall further behind on my yearly goal. I would need to do 36 or so miles before the end of the month. It will be…

Ran a 10K today, beat my PR by 5 minutes. I am doing good with my miles so far this month. Only 2 weeks until my half marathon.
-
Hey everyone. Posted a loss this week. Been a bit crazy here lately but I am still here and chugging along. We have two more weeks to finish off this first challenge of the year. Lets finish strong!
-
I got in a gorgeous 10.5 mile long run today. Felt great to get outside and soak in the sun. First day over 40 in a long time. Half marathon in 3 weeks, that went by fast!
-
Managed a nice 1.5 mile lunch walk and a 2.75 mile run with 0.25 cool down walk. Total for the day 4.5 miles
-
All fixed. Two day into the month and I am at 11 miles  Sunday was my long run and it got me off to a good start. Hopefully I ill cut into my deficit a little bit or at least not make it any worse

Didn't work. In the settings to the right, did you change the setting to "friends with link can edit". I bet you it is set to the default "friend with link can view".
-
I can see the spreadsheet but can't add my name.

Damn, I did this last night and the internet ate my post. I am in, I am shooting for 164 miles this month. I know I will not necessarily hit that total but that is what i need to do to be on track with my goal for the year. Here is hoping!
-
I had a rough week without my husband home but I managed to eat well and lose 0.8 of the three I had gained. Getting back to my regular routine so hopefully the rest of the gain plus some extra will come off before the end of this challenge.

LOVE IT!

I agree with the others, meetup.com is a good way to meet others. Also, find something active you love and then find other who do it and make some new friends. That way you can hang out with your old friends for partying or just chilling and you have support for your healthier lifestyle. For me, I love Obstacle course…

Up 3 pounds in 2 weeks. I am sure some or most of it was water weight but I have been sick and haven't been able to workout as much as I normally would and my food choices have been a little less healthy since I am going through a serious bout of winter blues with the excessive amount of snow that has fallen over the last…

Falling off a bit with my half marathon training. Been battling a nasty cold the last week/ week and a half and I am afraid if I push it will blow up into a bad case of bronchitis. So I will definitely be short on my miles this week. I finally feel almost 100% I am skipping my long run today and am going to try and easy…

Woohoo!

Congrats on the PR. I think you are making a smart decision about the half. It is better to give your toe time to heal and be ready for a race in April/May then to push it and do more damage and then be out for months trying to recuperate. It least you had this chance to test it in a race environment and make a smart and…

I managed to loose 6 lbs between the start of the year and Valentine's day. It wasn't the 10 I was hoping for but I definitely can't complain. This winter has been ridiculously cold and snowy so I am not getting nearly the activity level I would like.

I am joining in a little late but better late then never. I am 5'6 and weigh 162. My ultimate goal weight would be 145-150. I try to not focus completely on the scale. Since St. Patty's day is only 4 weeks away I am setting my goal for this challenge at 5 lbs lost which would get me down to 157. Right now I am training for…

Good luck with your knee/leg. I have had knee problems off and on throughout my life. A lot of times the problems originate in your hips (weak hips causing your gait to be out of whack). While you are looking into things to do to inform your form, maybe look into strengthening your hips. It has made a TON of difference for…

I am way behind on my goals for this month. I got knocked with a nasty cold this week and havent been able to run or walk without breaking down into coughing fits. I feel a lot better today so I am going to get moving again. Have fun at your race jemsurf!
-
Good morning, I skipped my weigh in this week. I haven't been working out or running due to a nasty cold (which I am finally getting over) and my eating has been atrocious. I decided that instead of depressing myself by seeing a gain on the scale which I am sure would be mostly water weight, I would give myself a pass for…

Anyone have a challenge they would like to propose for Week 6? I am out of ideas

Thanks for updating. I only know the simple things in excel. My work uses a lot of the functions and I mostly scratch my head.

Friday was a much needed rest day and Saturday was mostly strength. Today was my long run day, I did 7.3 on the elliptical (80 minutes). I may log another mile or so if I have to go out and take a turn at snow removal.
