From that ever reliable source The Daily Mail....http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1276903/Side-effect-risk-millions-unnecessary-stomach-drugs.html Check out with your doctor how long the prescription needs to be. Quite often a short course of a month or 2 can be enough to allow the oesophogos to heal and…

Hi glad you are not doing a cleanse they really are over rated," no pain no gain" when it comes to exercise if fine if you want to push yourself but not when it comes to your diet. Juice of 1/2 fresh lemon or lime in the mornings does make me feel good though (have it with a little honey and ginger or cayenne if you like a…

If you try really hard!! Plan in your exercise days, have a sticker chart maybe ( I keep going on about these, but they really work!) and non food related reward each week if you meet your targets! get loads of sleep too!

Nothing amazing, but I often have a couple of clementines a bit before exercise, have a pint of water after maybe a bananna or small salad, then eat as normal. I have enough energy for a good work out and the snacks seem to stop me over eating later on

When I did c25k a few years ago it was really tough going. I made myself do it outside round the local field/dog walking park. The first few weeks were particularly tough, I made myself a sticker chart for 10 weeks, aimed for 3 runs a week and gave myself a non-food related treat if I had 3 stars at the end of the week.…

If he is indeed depressed and with very low self esteem leading to his control and paranoia then he needs to get these sorted. But he needs to get these sorted on his own. I second what someone else recommend about talking to your college counselor or similar, and do it soon. You have described a downward spiral with him…

Sounds like your wife is not wanting to take responsibility. Which is how most of us end up in this situation. Put the responsibility or 'power' back to her - If she is not happy what is she going to do about it? Sounds like you have the control re shopping and cooking, thought she may say this is what she wants, she may…

Really randomly unhelpful people out there and you were only asking a question! Sooo, here are my thoughts on carbs - If I eat bread early on in the day I am really hungry for the rest of that day and tend to crave more of the same (processed bread, doughnuts, pizza etc) If I have pasta or bread for lunch its kind of the…

I used the NHS couch to 5k - was great, and when I did not do all 3 runs in one week I just repeated that week instead of giving up. I really rate the program , never thought I would have been able to do it and the first few weeks were quite hard, but basically it got me used to being outside, hot, sweaty and out of breath…

Well done you! I too completed it having never run before and never thought I would be a runner. Hoping to start up running again too as I lost weight in places I had not thought of as 'fat' last time. Need to sign myself up for some charity runs for motivation now!

All good advice so far and i definately agree with lots of veg! i use a herbs range by NOMU from south africa and it takes the boredom out of veg. they have loads of different flavours and are really cheap if you order a selection of 4 little pouches -free delivery…

the thought of EXERCISING can be daunting, but its not all about being in pain! little changes can make so much difference. Start with walking! if you find you quite like being outside there are loads of gentle training plans if you wanted to start jogging, some have podcasts you can listen to on MP3 player or similar such…

Thats pretty amazing! how do you feel? listen to your body, if you feel good then you are probably doing ok just as you are. These tools tend to suggest slower weight loss than most of us would like as is can be more successful in the long term. Personaly i need to see some consistent changes to keep me motivated. So as…

walking and jogging. you will gradually burn off fat and have firmer more shapely arm and legs as a result too. I started running a couple of years ago and one thing i did not consider was how it would change my shape apart from the obvious weight loss. I loved my toned arms afterwards. Aiming to get back to that again.

Really don't beat yourself up. Take a deep breath, have a glass of water, walk to the shop and buy some fruit or something else you can do to make you feel positive and in control again. Its the little decisions that make the difference. and soo well done on the walking so far!

I have now gone up 2 dress sizes, got quite a bit more wobbly but dont actually weigh that much more. So stick with the exercise, you will be doing do much good to your body on the inside and in…
