  • Hemorrhaging: I would have that at times, too. Every 15 minutes I was in the bathroom! I looked it up and saw that taking 800 mg ibuprofen would slow the hemorrhaging down. It helped me for the day but not sure about long term. Not had spotting yet but glad to know that if I do it's not unusual.
  • My thoughts are that if you feel that you are in perimenopause what does it really matter what the dr says. (This is from someone whose learned to be educated enough to not take a dr's brush off if I need more from him/her.) You know your body better than anyone and you know your history. I'd say that if you are starting…
  • One of the 5Ks we do every year has about 4 or 5 very young kids that beat most of us! A couple years ago they actually added an age group - 0-9 yrs - so that those kids could get awards too. They didn't do the 1 mile fun run - too short for them!!!! And, they make it look so easy and relaxing. :ohwell: I think the younger…
  • Welcome! You will definitely get some good support here. Either we are all crazy during this time of our lives or those not going through it are!!! One of the discussion topics was "What works for you?" and has lots of varying ideas that you might want to try.
  • Can you take double the regular strength amount to get the extra strength - one in morning and one at night? Just wondering because I just got the regular strength today.
  • I'd say to try something in between and see how you feel. 3 weeks is a long time off but go with how your body feels.
  • Get a kids' meal and get the healthy sides/drink.
  • I always do a grilled chicken salad if I "have" to eat at a fast food place. Just watch the toppings and dressings.
  • You can also just do without the bread and get a Subway salad.
  • Forgot to add that I'm determined to get rid of it!!!! Slowly, ever so slowly, it's coming off!
  • Okay, I'm going to try this. Reviews looked pretty good. Amazon had a 60 day supply for just $16 so I went with the convenience of delivery.
  • Bummer! I was hoping this might be something I could use but I took black cohosh for a while and it made my hot flashes much worse! Oh well. :-(
  • They are probably just talking about the rubber/plastic material in the shoe breaking down. That takes quite a while though!!!
  • my son likes to make up his own exercise routines with the yoga and strength. The yoga isn't as easy as you might think! Good for a change up and to get kids moving. The bird game really works your arm muscles!!!!! You'll look a bit ridiculous but feel it the next day. :-D
  • I did something similar this morning: 1/2 c. pumpkin (I used squash cause I have plenty that I froze into 1/2 c. balls) 1/2 c. milk (I use raw but any kind will do) 1/3 c. old fashioned oatmeal 1/2 tsp vanilla 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice 1 tsp honey dash of salt I just warmed it up in the MW for a minute and let the oatmeal…
  • I won't be able to see this so am looking forward to your posting of his tips.
  • This may sound strange but I find that taking food grade diatomaceous earth (DE) helps me to feel better. There are a bunch of sites out there that tout the benefits of DE but I've gone mostly on experience and recommendations from friends. (earthworkshealth.com is one site with info on DE. I order mine through Amazon)
  • Agreed! I feel so much better when I'm exercising regularly and eating well.
  • It's a catch-22, isn't it? I feel the same way when I haven't had my period. Seems that this 2nd month of cream has reduced the length of hot flashes. It takes a few months to take effect, I'm pretty sure.
  • Ground turkey is our favorite because it's so juicy. Anytime I make burgers I shape them and then make a hole in the middle all the way through. This serves several purposes: the burgers cook from the inside at the same time they are cooking from the outside so there's less time on the grill/skillet, as the burger shrinks…
  • The only thing that I've found that works for me with the hot flashes/night sweats is progesterone cream. Does anyone else use this? Still, I go in cycles of having them and not, depending on my period. Also, I noticed that several people mentioned much heavier periods. I've had a few where it was to the point of being in…

  • I just do a regular white sauce but don't use butter or cream - just milk and flour - and season it as I need for the recipe. You can just add some boullion and cubed cooked chicken.
  • yummy!!!! bet these would be a great party finger food!
  • I like the part about squats and pushups. Pushups are HARD and work your upper body and core a lot. I'm going to be working on those more consistently. Thanks!
  • That sounds like a great idea except we live out in the boonies and the roads probably won't be all that safe for bike riding. Although today it was 65!!!! We got in a good 40 min. interval training run plus a mile of just running and we did it this morning before it got too warm! :-P
  • The only hesitation I had was, "What if I need these clothes later?" But then I realized that that was self-defeating. I figure if the clothes I have fit me then when they start to get tight, that's my cue to be more careful.
  • Seems like my hot flashes are decreasing...maybe because I've restarted my progesterone cream regimen. Now I'm doing 3 weeks on and one week off. This week marks 10 weeks w/o my period - the longest I've gone. Usually it's either been 4 weeks or up to 9 weeks for the last couple of years.
  • I wouldn't be able to eat if I avoided those things. That's what I live off of right now! [/quote] I find that if I eat stuff that's mostly sugar or is really processed, I'm really suspectible to getting sick. That's just my body's reaction. Usually, I can tell that I'm headed that way and take extra supplements and more…
  • I take: D3 (5000 units) C low dose zinc a good whole foods multivitamin fish oil (1000 units) I avoid: sugary treats processed foods My husband is a school teacher and brings home all kinds of "wonderful" germs. Last 2 years, I've not gotten sick from what he's brought home. He even had swine flu 2 yrs ago and was home for…
