  • Thank you for this. I have come to the conclusion that I am eating far too little.
  • I am sorry this is me just being uber frustrated, very dispirited so somewhat dramatic. Im fine, thank you for caring.
  • I appreciate the thought but breakfast is simply an almost guaranteed way for me to get a couple of hours of stomach cramps which is part of the reason I dont eat it. I am trying to spread my calories more evenly over my 2 meals. .
  • Like you I rarely eat before 1pm. Not sure what you mean by: 2) your diet is one big freaking "unknown" and I get the sense you are not telling the truth to yourself about it or why you would assume i am lying about what I am eating. I have had 30+ years of screwing up my body with fad and yo yo dieting - look at my…
  • Never heard of this one. But I am not keen on doing another prescribed diet as I am trying to find a style of eating that I can maintain. Out of curiosity though I will look it up. Thanks
  • I agree with that. I am trying to work with my body instead of against it. If I am not hungry I allow myself not to eat rather than eating just because it is dinner time etc.
  • I lost 9lbs before I joined MFP. Then put 7 back on then lost the 6 you see and stuck for the past month. I understand what you mean about logging ingredients, but how do you find the time? It would prevent me from actually cooking a meal. I just throw things in till it tastes right any how. I really only limit fats in my…
  • I have to agree with you. I am going to slowly increase my weekly calorie intake - some how.
  • Thank you all for your replies. I really really appreciate that you have taken the time to give me the benefit of your thoughts and experiences. I has given me lots of food for thought. Calculating my TDEE - 20% gave me a huge number (by comparison to MFP) of calories per day which I struggled to eat healthily. Also having…
  • Congratulations on the 90lb loss. Really impressive. Thank you for writing this. You have this has been a really useful thread to me because it has made me rethink what I am doing and most especially why on gods green earth did I arbitrarily decide to drop my calorie intake by nearly 1k per day and then start exercising.…
  • Its not that i dont like eating breakfast, its just it usually makes me ill. At the weekend hubby might bring me breadfast in bed. I dont have to get up then so I dont and I am fine. Sadly Mon to ~Fri i have to get up to work I cant do that doubled up with stomach cramps for 2 hours till my stomach calms down. I dont snack…
  • Thanks for that. It supports my eat when I am hungry. which is sadly always late in the evening.
  • Wow congrats on the weight loss. I will try and look at your diary.
  • I havent eaten breakfast since I was 13. I have tried off and on over the years but just can't sustain it. If I eat too early then have to actually do anything i just get stomach cramps or wind up eating every thing that is not nailed down. I don't eat processed foods. Virtually everything in my house is cooked from…
  • I think I need to rejoin IIFYM. I never hit them or the calorie intake, but at least I was trying to hit them. I know I just dont drink enough water i have started to drink squash diluted 1:10 to increase my water intake. Tea and lemon grass sorry I'd rather be fat. cant abide either.
  • IDK??? I would agree. I went from something that 'fit' me to the 'deprivation' that the word 'diet' brings to mind. I am going to build up my calories.
  • No you are right. I am going to slowly increase my calorie intake.
  • Sheer madness. trying to eat 2200 healthy calories per day is totally counter intuitive hence going back to the 'deprivation' diet the number of calories MFP calculation provides. I am going to try to build up then number of calories I am eating.
  • Thats part of my problem I dont eat breakfast, it makes me ill and I dont get hungry early in the day.
  • Darn, I would love to look this up, but cringe dont shoot me, I am NOT on twitter. but thank you for taking the time to reply
  • This makes sense. Its back to the drawing board for me.
  • I wish I could get 6 cups of coffee in a day. I get a couple of sips or if Im lucky half a cup before it goes cold and gets thrown I am inclined to agree with you on the 1200 cals that MFP reccomend.
  • OMG this is so me. I did all the alphabet calcs but because I was not consistently eating them all decided (with a tiny hint of disquiet) to just drop to the very generic MFP calc which is 900cals less. Less cals = greater weight loss right! So very wrong! I have dieted more times than not in my life from the age of 15…
  • Thank you for taking the time to look at my diary. Fresh eyes always help. THere have been a couple of times when only 1 meal is logged where I simply forgot to log the rest . the 2K+ days usually bread chocolate or alcohol days, but those aside my perception is that I am being consistent which is clearly not the case.…
  • This is very true; I wouldnt log if I had to list every ingredient, so lesser of 2 evils. I will though increase my food intake as suggested. I think I have to make the effort to eat at lunch time.
  • Thanks, for this. I dont always weigh my food but do most of the time, which drives the family mad.
  • I will go away and read this; but even without reading it it sounds like me. No breakfast (If I eat too early either get stomach cramps or ravenous all day) miniscule lunch - usually cuppasoup and all my calories crammed into one huge meal. I dont tend to snack. Hmmm, I will try eating more at lunch and less in the…
  • Yep, looking at what I am eating, I need to get rid of the potatoes and bread. Not much of a fruit eater but I can seriously up the veg. I think the 'empty' carbs have struck especially bread which is one of my many weaknesses. Although I am staying within calorie limits, I there is far greater proportion of starchy foods.…
  • Yes, sorry just did a slight amendment. Yes pretty accurate. The only thing I dont log is my coffee intake. I drink about 3 half cups a day at work and 3 full ones at home all with semi skim milk. I changed to stop me plateau-ing, but I have been stuck since just after Easter. I am wondering if changing back will help.
  • The number of people who manage to lose weight on SW astounds me - and best yet its quite rapid. Sadly I am so undisciplined that I am useless at sticking with it (fell of the wagon at Easter and still haven't quiet managed to get good) but I am still persevering. I agree with you, 1200 calories can be horrendous. Hmmm…
