I haven't posted in this thread before, but after reading for so long, and laughing so much - I just have to say how proud I am of you all!

This is just my personal experience - I'm no expert - but I have just under 100 pounds to lose, and I started exercising when I still had quite a bit more than 100 pounds to lose. I really, really love lifting, and it's really important to me to lift because I want to maintain the lean muscle that I have while I'm eating…

This weekend will likely be a little challenging for me since tonight I'm going out for sushi and tomorrow is a big local Oktoberfest, but I think it shouldn't be too bad. I cleverly offered to DD for the Oktoberfest, so that should help keep the beer calories low! Everyone enjoy your weekends!

I feel your pain, friend. I would give anything to be able to tell whatever weird biochemical mechanism it is that decides where fat is going to melt off next that really, please leave my boobs and butt alone for the time being and focus on my GIANT gut. But alas, all we can do is keep working and trust that eventually it…

I also weigh on Fridays but I don't want to change my day, so I figure I'll keep weighing on Fridays but tell y'all what I lost for the previous week on Wednesday! Everyone wins! So since I don't have a number yet, I have nothing to report here, but I'll see everyone next week! SW: 319.2 CW: 259.2 100 Day GW: 235

Well, 14 days have come and gone - I hope everyone was able to learn a little bit about themselves and reflect about what drives us to binge. Congrats to all on the progress made! I'd love to see this group get a little more active! BED is such a common problem and I think the more people can be open about it and talk…

I'd love to join! I'm leaving for vacation in MIAMI on December 15th and would love to have lost as much as I can by then. I love joining these groups and they are so helpful to keep me motivated! :-D

60 pounds and I'm still waiting! The only people who have noticed are those who know I'm eating better so they know to look for it.

I love the Tasty Bite Madras Lentils - I buy them at Costco but I've seen them other places as well. They come in little pouches that technically have two servings in them but I figure you only live once and eat the whole pouch for 300 calories and 14 grams of protein. They cook in the microwave in 1 minute and taste…

I tip my hat to all these black coffee lovers but I do love a cup of coffee that tastes like dessert! I put unsweetened almond milk in mine (I did that before MFP but was pleasantly surprised to see that I can add up to a half a CUP and it's only 15 calories) and then I live for the Torani sugar free coffee syrups. They're…

I'm in! I did June and July alcohol-free and felt it was really good for me, then drank maybe a total of six glasses of wine total for the month of August. Then I WAY overdid it over labor day weekend, especially considering my drastically lowered tolerance from three months of almost no alcohol. So I'm looking forward to…

Way to go!!! I always feel my best when I'm lifting, and the squat cages make you feel so hardcore!

Cooking Light has all the nutrition info which is handy, though I often use the MFP recipe importer to edit their recipes a little. Good luck with your cooking goal, sounds fun!

1. Way to go! I know that some days I can do the "just a little" method but some days I need to totally abstain. Way to go on exercising your will-power muscle! 2. I'd like the contact info of the HR department at your place of business please. LOL!!

@danielle - LOVE that blog post. I frequently attribute my BED to dangerous restriction dieting when I was a teenager. Nice to see that I'm not just making up that connection! @leah - Congrats on your week! It feels so great to recognize a potential opportunity for a binge and walk away. Way to go! Happy to say that my…

How's the challenge going, everyone? I'm feeling a little apprehensive because I'm going out drinking with friends tonight to celebrate finishing our hardest week of med school so far. Today marks 94 days without a binge for me, but for the first 60 days of that I was completely alcohol free, and for the past 34 I've only…

I think this is a great idea! Way to go being proactive and looking for solutions that work for you. Right now I'm about 90 days binge free (woo woo!) and I still consider every day a victory. Happy to join the challenge and support you in your goals! Also feel free to send a friend request if you like.

So sorry to hear your struggle. I've battled both anorexia and binge eating disorder at different stages in my life and I know how hard it is when it seems we can't control what we eat. Of course, the most important thing is that you get to work with a counselor right away. I'm glad to see you'll be starting again in a few…

My feeling is that I take a multi vitamin for whatever is so important in vegetables.

As much as I hear people rave about them on MFP, I actually won't buy them because I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to control myself! I've always had issues with that sort of thing. Good luck with your addiction!

Maybe try adjusting where you have your activity level set? If you set it to "sedentary" and you're actually more active than that, you would need more calories to stay satisfied.
-
Do you have any friends who work out? It might be helpful to join the same gym as them and ease into it with their assistance. I'm incredibly grateful to a couple of friends who really took me under their wing and helped me get started in the gym when I was ready.

This is my issue too. If I don't eat anything until lunchtime I'm on a trajectory to make terrible decisions all day. Don't know what causes it, but it seems to be pretty reliable. So even if it's just grabbing a protein shake on the way out the door, I make a point to have SOMETHING for breakfast. So sure, this whole…

Nope. I love my food scale and the precision it allows me with foods that aren't pre-measured but when the package says one granola bar has 100 calories... I roll with it. Anything beyond that, for me, falls into the "where does it end?!?" category.

I've had a lot of fun being a part of the challenges that pop up periodically. You make great friends that keep your feed active and it also holds you accountable for your own work. Just keep an eye on the message boards for when new challenges open up if that's something that interests you. Best of luck!

Hummus is amazing! I make my own "chips" by slicing up a tortilla, spraying it with coconut oil, sprinkling it with paprika and baking for about 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven. The perfect vehicle for hummus! I also love hummus on sandwiches! But I agree with the person above who said they have to measure - if I don't use…

It doesn't really matter. I mean, your body doesn't have some magic internal clock that switches over at a certain time of night. You're going for a calorie deficit over time, and that can be over a day, or a week, a month, or a year. We tend to log in days because it's easier to measure in smaller units of time. If it…

I can online window shop forever and not even notice where the time went! So fun and such good motivation! Plus, I have a closet full of old clothes I'm looking forward to wearing again!
