Congratulations on reaching your goal. That is truly awesome. Body image is such a difficult topic and I think most people do themselves a great disservice. Changing focus to being healthy as opposed to looking a certain way or being a certain weight could help give you the satisfaction you desire. Otherwise I recommend…

Are your calculations set to kilojoules and not calories. That would make a huge difference. ;)

Wow, you are lucky! I am tired of being over-endowed with people that I have no choice but to ignore myself since nobody else does.

I don't ban anything. Potato chips were my greatest junk food love. I have a large bag of my favourite flavour in the pantry that I opened 6 weeks ago. I ate a 30 gram serving when I opened them and haven't been back to it since. I want to rule my food, not have my food rule me. But, we did pack away the deep fryer.

Making a weightloss journey just about losing weight is, I believe, a mistake. Lose the weight and the mind says okay, go back to eating whatever. It has to be a lifestyle change of healthy eating and exercise. Essentially it is about being healthy - eating to fuel the body and get all the nutrients needed, exercising to…

I did Optifast - three shakes a day and 2 cups veges for 3 months. 2 shakes, plus one meal for 2 months and then one shake plus 2 meals for 6 weeks before leaving behind the shakes. Now I use MFP to guide me the rest of the way to my goal. Best wishes for your journey.

A beautiful and inspirational story. I am so very happy for you and you look great. My own success to date is due to God's help also. There is no way I would have gotten this far without it. Thank you for sharing. Continue chasing your dreams! :flowerforyou:

Don't look at the long road. It can be good to think of your longterm goal from time to time, but it can be a huge mind obstacle to get past. Set small goals and celebrate (not with food) when you achieve them. A new magazine or hire a DVD you haven't seen can be great rewards. It sounds like you are worried about sticking…

Lovely parody. Works very well. Thanks for sharing it. :drinker:

Daily log for me, actually constantly throughout the day. I just passed 190 days of logging.

You can do it Bay. Cheers to your success to come! :drinker:

Thank you so much everyone.

Thanks mockchoc. :flowerforyou: Hope your MIL can improve her diabetes. Oishii - I am still on Metformin (1 tablet twice a day, of which I usually forget to take the evening one) but hope to come off that eventually, too. Best wishes for you, too.

Awww, so sorry about your uncle, Rigger. It's such a horrible thing. My aunt passed away 3 years ago from diabetes complications. Mya - congrats to you, too.

Thank you for the sweet comment, Brett.

That must be very difficult for you. I am a diabetic so I am careful with my choices. The other responders have offered good advice. Have you looked at any of the alternative sweeteners that are natural. For example, Stevia. You can even grow your own stevia plant. I had one once but I'm not good with potted plants.…

I was confused about the labelling for a while, too. I don't know why they put the unpopped values on the bag. If you want corn kernels for grinding you wouldn't buy microwave popcorn to do it with. So sometime back I did a bit of research on the internet. Unpopped corn has a much higher energy content and when it is…

I have one friend comment to me when she comes around for lunch that she can't believe how much food I eat at lunch. It's a good case of where looks are decieving. When the food choices are healthy - like lots of veges - you can eat a lot more and lose weight. Also to factor into this is my friend is retired with an even…

I've lost the complete Oxford English Dictionary plus an Ostrich egg...so far.

Start by doing as much as you can of any chosen exercise activity. Don't worry about how little you can do. You've just got to start. Work on increasing it slightly - an extra minute, one lamp post further etc. With walking I started only being able to walk as far as my front gate. I worked at extending that by the width…

I was first put on Metformin in 2000 and it never helped me lose weight even though I was also under a dietitian at the same time. My stomach doesn't like it and so I went off it. I've been back on Metformin (at half the dose I was on back in 2000) since October last year, but because I am now a diabetic. My weight loss…

Some brands can cause side effects. I was on one for years and then the government changed which one they funded and the new one didn't agree with me at all. So if you do go onto thyroid medication, side effects are a possibility but there are different ones so it's a matter of trial and error until both the dose and the…

Some great recipes. Yum. Going to have to try some of these. Thanks :)

Very cool. Well done.

Jmy opinion, but I would think it would definitely benefit. Maybe not in the way that your full workout does, but 1. movement 2. resistance from the water has to equal some gentle toning exercise. I can't wait until summer to get out into our backyard pool.

Are you unsatisfied because you're hungry or because you're missing the flavour/sweet/salty/richness of "unhealthy" foods? If it's because you're hungry, there is a period of adjustment to go through when you start eating better portion sizes and low-calorie food. That's something that you just have to persevere with and…

Excellent. Love it.

Wanted: Someone to take my photo so this phone doesn't obscure my bod. :)

Giraffes weigh less than I used to. Fortunately I'm more like a young mare now.
