  • I'd like to join too if you're still adding folks. I got off tracking for a couple months (did a Whole30, went on vacation, etc.) and am trying to get back into the groove and more accountable.
  • Yeah, it gets easier, after a year or two, LOL. I have been doing the Shred on and off for years and only within the last few months did it get easy enough that I switched to 5lb weights (and now it's kicking my butt again). Keep working and do as much as you can each time and keep trying the harder versions even if you…
  • 1. Oatmeal made with almond milk, topped with Wildtree oatmeal mix-ins, usually a banana on the side. 2. Oatmeal pancakes (1/3 cup of rolled oats, one egg, cinnamon--fried like a pancake, topped with jam) 3. Wheat bagel thin topped with peanut butter and a sliced banana 4. 2 over easy eggs and a slice of wheat toast
  • I agree with you on the MFP maintenance number. I keep myself at "lose 1/2 pound per week" and maintain within a pound or two. If I put it at maintain--I gain.
  • Me too, something with protein, so a Greek yogurt, or a piece of fruit with a string cheese are my go-tos in the morning.
  • I do it on carpet and most definitely wear shoes. There is no way I could have proper form with jumping jacks, lunges, etc. barefoot. Stick with it. Even if you don't notice a huge difference, you will see it in your before and after pictures.
  • I log it as circuit training and log both the warm-up and the exercises (but not the cool down), so it's roughly 25-26 minutes depending on the level.
  • I would say starting with walking for 30 minutes 3x a week is a good way to start exercise. It isn't going to make a huge dent as far as giving you a ton more calories to eat, but it's a good start. I have less willpower with food, so I try to exercise more so I can eat more (and it's a vicious cycle. lol). Other good…
  • Strength training. I have always always hated my thighs until I started doing Jillian Michael's DVD's (primarily the 30 Day Shred, but I also do Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism and Ripped in 30). Now I love my thighs for the first time ever :)
  • I have a 2-year-old as well and honestly, I pluck her in front of the TV or my computer with a movie in and do the 30-Day Shred. It's only 20 minutes so I can usually get through it without too much whining on her part. We jog in the summer as well with a jogging stroller and walk or bike, like you mentioned.
  • This morning I had an orange and a string cheese. This afternoon will be popcorn.
  • Friday. Because I tend to eat worse over the weekend and I like to have the entire work-week to stabilize.
  • If you leave it in the DVD player and don't do anything after your workout, it reverts to the menu screen where you select the Level. I'm able to just change the input on my TV from TV to DVD player and when I'm ready to workout again, I switch input back to DVD and there is the menu with the workouts. Saves a few minutes…
