  • I agree with everyone else about not eating out and eating cleaner. I have bad weeks with eating out and I literally gain about 5lbs. As soon as I start eating clean again it comes off. Also, I know it is hard but try to work out at least 60 minutes a day with strength training at least twice a week. You will be amazed at…
  • I have the Polar FT4 and love it. Does everything I need it to do. Also, you can find them on Amazon or overstock.com for a lot less than stores.
  • I wore my heart rate monitor once (a while ago) to hot yoga. I found I burned close to 500 calories in a 90 minute hot yoga class. Everyone is different tho (based on your fitness level and weight, height, etc.) To be safe I usually only log 60 minutes for a 90 minute class and figure any extra is just extra calories…
  • If you are running and lifting most days a week you should be eating 1500 calls min. I was at 1200 and my weight loss actually stalled until I added more in. Eat carbs (you can eat the atbbreakfast and lunch and skip them at dinner if you are watching them) as they will fuel your runs. Also eat a ton of protein! Like way…
  • I started yesterday. Feel free to add me.
  • Bolthouse Farms. Any of them are delicious!
  • I made this last night and it was delicious! http://www.kalynskitchen.com/2011/03/recipe-for-better-than-moms-chicken.html Made some adjustments. Left out the curry (I don't like it), used less mayo than was called, used chobani non fat greek yogurt in place of sour cream and used 2% cheddar cheese because it is what I…
  • I agree you need to eat more on the days that you workout. I always try to leave a couple hundred left over (to account for error in estimating food amounts and calories burned even though I use a HRM). I try to net at least 1200. You should at least be hitting 1000.
  • I think they are fine in moderation-a couple of times a week. Life happens and sometimes we just need something convenient. However, I have been making big bathces of chili, spaghetti sauce, casseroles, etc. and freezing them in individual containers. Put them in the fridge the night before and by lunch the next day they…
  • I drink them for breakfast. 1/2 banana sliced, 1/2 cup mixed berries, scoop of vanilla protein powder and 3/4 cup almond milk. The protein helps your muscles recover from working out but most importantly helps to keep me full. It is true that bodybuilders and those trying to build a lof muscle will drink them after most…
  • I am also getting married June 2!
  • ipad-4 (not having flash can be annoying occasionally but other than that I love it!) Nook color-3 (Got this before my ipad and now wish I just had the regular to read books on since I now read magazines on my ipad)
  • I LOVE my zensah compression sleeves (I love my socks so wanted to get the sleeves and not the socks). I get shin splints and these have definitely helped. I wear them during runs and after runs. I also ice my shins after for those out there that suffer from shin splints and it has seemed to help me.
  • planks (regular planks, side planks, etc.) will help you tone up your tummy. And keep with the calorie deficit and cardio. Unfortunately, thats the last to go for most people...
  • Distance. If I can run 3 miles without stopping I say I will do half a mile more next time or run it faster. I do like to do at least 30 min of cardio though so if it is less than that I may walk longer for a cool down.
  • I had some pain in my right buttocks and right lower back a while back and it ended up being caused by tight hamstrings. A massage worked wonders for me (90 min deep tissue). Perhaps your muscles srenjust tight and loosening them up may help?
  • I love Nike sport bras (http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/?sitesrc=uslp#l=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-1/pid-318469/pgid-444673) and Lucy bras (www.lucy.com). I know they can be pricey, I got my Nike bras at an outlet and they were a lot cheaper.
  • I let my parents think I believed in Santa long after I knew the truth. You got more presents that way. =) I would say he probably knows or at least has a good idea he isn't real and just needs you to confirm it.

  • Yes, recruiters and employers use facebook frequently to look at employees and people they are looking to hire. You can make all of your information private (which is what I do) and no one can see what your co worker posts but her friends.
  • I just had Chinese takeout last night! I like the Mu Shu chicken. No pancake and only use a small amount of the hoison sauce. I used PF Chang's nutritional data (since their stats are generally awful). I eat it with 1/2 cup of steamed rice and egg drop soup. I had about 7oz of the mu shu chicken, 10oz egg drop soup, 1/2…
  • I love omelets. I mix the egg, egg whites and whatever veggies I am putting in it the night before and throw it in a tupperware container. The next morning all I have to do is pour it in the pan and 5 min later it is done. I also like wraps. They are great for using up leftover meat, veggies and easy to take to work or on…
  • I recently started to like running and am doing my first half in November. As some of the other posters said, go get fitted for shoes. A reputable running store will watch you run and recommend shoes for you. A good store will also let you bring them back if after a couple runs you notice any pain (I took back 2 pair…
  • Rest for a week. Do elliptical, bike or swimming for cardio. Ice shins for 15 minutes 2-3 times a day. Take anti inflammatory. Ease back into it slowly. If your shins hurt next week then take another week off. It sucks but I had them so bad in February I could barely walk. I had to take a month off from anything that was…
  • Go to Moe's website and they have a nutritional calculator on there. You can add and take off items there. You can make Moe's as healthy (or unhealthy) as you like. AS a general rule, nachos are probably one of the worst things you can eat. I eat Moe's once a week and get the Joey Jr. (omit the cheese and sour cream but do…
  • You can scallops with whole wheat pasta in a white wine, lemon garlic sauce. Remember to go easy on the butter if you use any. I like to add some fresh basil, a little olive oil, lemon and simmer them in a little white wine to absorb the flavor. Remember to save a little of the pasta water to help the sauce bind to it…
  • Cardio, squats (for the thighs and butt), lunges, planks (regular and side for core), bicycles (for abs). These are all exercises you can do at home with no equipment. However, I like to do lunges and squats with 10lb weights now. Start where you are confortable.
  • I am about the same height and weight and am set to lose .5lbs a week. it gives me almost 1500 calories a day. Sometimes I get close to that and sometimes I don't but I like that I am allowed more. Plus, I only have about 10-15lbs to lose and they say you are supposed to set it at .5lb loss per week when you get close to…
  • How often do you run? If you are running 3-4 miles 5 times a week you probably need to add more calories. You are hungry before bed because your body isn't getting enough fuel (that would be my guess anyways). If you would open your diary it would be easier for people to make suggestions. However, I do high intensity…
  • Planks! I hate them with a passion and my trainer loves them. Start off doing 30 sec regular plank and then 30 sec on each side. Do 3 sets. When that gets too easy then bump the time to 45 sec. I also like bicycles, leg lifts, scissor kicks and flutter kicks. You can google any of these and get a you tube video on how to…
