  • What kind of job is it and what are you training for? I would go at least for a few hours. They may think you need some additional training or are trying to see if you are really committed (although I do think they should pay you!).
  • You could also be gaining muscle due to the added strength training. Muscle weighs more than fat. =)
  • I also quickly looked at your diary and noticed you are burning A LOT of calories. I do, kickboxing, running, intense strength training and I rarely burn over 550. Also, it looks like you are eating an awful lot of carbs and sugar (and you exercise does up your carb allowance so if that is wrong you may actually be eating…
  • Bump
  • This website will give you songs to the tempo you are looking for and allow you to see other members playlists. http://jog.fm/
  • I have high arches and overpronate slightly. I have the Aasics Kayanos and LOVE them. However, I also have the superfeet insoles (the green ones) in my shoes. Just because the Aasics work for me they also may not work for you. The best idea would be to go to a running store and get properly fitted. They should have you try…
  • I burn about 450-600 in a hot yoga class. I also wore my HRM.
  • I live in Atlanta and it is hot here! I run all times of day but most recently was running in the middle of the day training for a race. I use my inhaler before running and that seems to help a lot. Also, whenever I feel it getting a little harder to breathe I take a walk break and take some deep breaths. I only do this…
  • Mrs Dash seasoning and bake (I like to bake with tin foil over it as it keeps it juicier) or grill. Mrs. Dash seasonings are awesome and no sodium.
  • If you are using a heart rate monitor I would count both as you definitely continue burning calories when cooling down and stretching. If you are using MFP estimates I would just count the time you are doing peak exercise as MFP tends to overestimate calories burned.
  • Do you have an iphone? If so there is a great app called Nike Training Club. I also work from home and have some free weights that I use to do some of these workouts when I can't make it to the gym (my days get crazy sometimes). If not, I would suggest getting one session with a personal trainer to show you how to use the…
  • I LOVE this app. Its a great workout. I am have been concentrating on running more in the past few weeks as I am running the Peachtree Road Race next week but I can't wait to get back to some of these workouts a couple of times a week. I usually do the intermediate get lean workouts.
  • Go try the elliptical or just walk on the treadmill to start. Those are easy machines to use and will get you some cardio in. As for weights, I highly recommend getting a trainer (even if it is only once) to show you how to work the machines and what the correct weight is for you to start off on if you can afford it. There…
  • Drink some water. Like the previous poster said it is likely dehydration. Also, as a almost 30 year old I go out A LOT with friends and it usually entails eating and drinking. I have learned to make smart food choices most of the time but the wine kills me. As a rule I make sure I always have a glass of water with me or at…
  • If you have been eating out more it could be due to sodium and water retention. Try cutting back on the sodium and drink more water when you do eat out to counteract it.
  • bump!
  • bump. I don't want to run a marathon but I also suffer from exercise induced asthma and would like to hear how others cope. I do use my inhaler before I run and it helps some but I also live in Atlanta where the heat and smog is a factor. I have found that I run better in the mornings though (probably b/c the smog is not…
  • Macy's (they have good sales most of the time), The Limited (great work clothes and if you catch the sales you can save a lot of money), NY and Company and online. I know if you spend over $99 at macys.com you can get free shipping. And if you sign up for their emails they usually have some promotional codes. Once you…
  • Maybe try doing a drop in yoga class on those days? I am not a yoga person either but have found I do enjoy it about once a week (I also despise the p90x yoga). I get discounted yoga classes from groupon, living social and half off depot and use those to try different studios and different types of yoga classes. I have…
  • Don't go under 1200 NET calories. Doing so on a regular basis will put your body into starvation mode and it will hang on to fat. MFP already calculates the calorie deficit you need when you put in your goals. As a rule I generally try to eat back at least half of my exercise calories.
  • I think your weight is fine. I would work on toning. Lots of lunges, squats, etc. if you want to tone your legs. You won't lose much weight but you will lose inches. I measure myself once a month to where I am at. I don't find the scale moving much but I do lose inches and it keeps me motivated.
  • Are you drinking enough water? Also try to eat more foods reach in fiber and protein. They will keep you full longer.
  • I am also interested to see what others say. I havent been losing and I do a lot of kickboxing and strength training. I have just started to do more cardio (running, elliptical, etc.) and scaling back on the strength training to see if that makes a difference for me.
  • I did wear my HRM in. I have the Polar FT4. I also had to take a lot of breaks since it was my first time. So, you could burn more or less. A lot of it also depends on how your body works. I work out at high intensity (kickboxing, lots of cardio combined with weights and a personal trainer once a week) so I think my body…
  • I burned almost 500 in a 75 minute minute class. 5'6" 145lbs.
  • MFP generally way overestimates calories burned. The only way you can be completely accurate is to use a heart rate monitor (ones with the chest strap are the most accurate).
  • I live on a road that has bike lanes on the side and there are ALWAYS people running/walking and biking. There are many marathoners, traithaletes, etc. that train around here. I have no problem with that but I frequently have to go into the other lane because bikers are riding outside of the designated bike lane (to ride…

  • Did you try this? I saw it this morning. I LOVE the Chick Fil A milkshake but it is awful for you.
