I’m in eastern Canada. Swimming outside is only realistic 2 months of the year. And the closest pool is at the closest gym :(. But cycling might work. If I can track down a friend with a bike, I’ll give that a try. Thanks for your suggestions.

That's really odd. When I enter elliptical (or stairclimber, treadmill, etc), MFP usually matches the calories that the cardio machine said I burned. If you're getting such a huge disparity, I'd say stick with what the elliptical tells you. Better to err on the side of caution. That way, you won't allow yourself to eat…

Sorry to hear you hurt yourself. It sucks when we get put out of commission. My only advice is to not worry about cutting back more on the calories because you can't workout.
