Hi everyone I recently had foot surgery for a torn tendon. I am two weeks post surgery. Finally out of that splint and now into a cast on that foot. Non weight bearing, I have one of those scooters to move around in. I was sooooooo excited about my 6lb weight loss, don't judge me may not be a lot, but to me It's like I lost 100 lbs. it was hard just to lose that. I'm wondering what in the world am I going to do not being able to exercise. I definitely need to be moving. So I'm wondering if anyone has been in this boat and what happened to your weight loss journey during this time? Can you gain wait by being sedentary all the time, even if you do stay within your calorie limits.

I had foot surgery last year, and was on crutches for 8 weeks (no weight on the recovering foot). Then in an air cast for another 4 weeks. I hated not being able to exercise, but once I was fully back on my feet, I'd only gained about 2 lbs. I had a bar fridge in my bedroom filled with fruit, cut up veggies, fat free yogurt, and sparkling water. That's what I ate for breakfast and as snacks throughout the day, and had a small lunch and supper. The only exercise I got in those 12 weeks was the walk from my bed to the bathroom and back. I realize this is anecdotal, but staying within my calorie limit worked for me.

Unfortunately, my surgery failed and I have to go back for another operation. Once again, I'll be in a cast for at least 10 weeks. I'm going to follow the same eating routine, but this time I'm going to add in a light upper body workout every day (free weights to work biceps, tricepts, deltoids, chest, etc). Best of luck to you in your recovery!

Switch yourself to sedentary maintenance. You will probably heal better and faster if you are not trying to lose.
Find a few seated or floor routines that you can follow on YouTube,

Don't let anyone bring you fast food. My husband does not know how to cook and I gained SO much weight.
