  • True dat! Add strength training and you will at least double the awesome.
  • While I agree with everybody, please be careful. If you don't run, and all of a sudden you are training for a race, please do it safely. You don't want to get hurt or discouraged and then hate running forever.
  • I apologize! Maybe I'm just a faster runner. I used to do sprints and long distance running in track (about 6 years ago). 200m was always my favourite. I did the C25K program (just recently) and everytime I would significantly jump in time running (like the first time I had to run 20 minutes straight), I would lower my…
  • . Darn, I'm sorry too. I thought he was a keeper. And now that I think of it.. when he has no product in his hair it does make him look girly. It's like his bulging chest and arms just vanish. Now to break up with him over text message. Actually no, I will send him a MFP message with a link to this forum topic. Thanks for…
  • Well I find your comment rude. My boyfriend loves when I wear pigtails because it makes me look girly and innocent. Finding girly and innocent attractive DOES NOT equal being attracted to little girls. I find it cute when my boyfriend doesn't put product in his hair for the same reasons (except substitue girly for boyish),…
  • I love this. Some of these I don't know and will look up. I also saw the less-intimidating modified-pull up post (thank goodness!!!). After looking all these up, I will probably add these to my fitness goals. I know I can to the run (both in distance and speed), but I'm only beginning with my strength training (it's been…
  • I always thought it was a potassium thing, some people are saying magnesium.. either way, maybe take a multivitamin (just make sure you take one for your gender). Fills in all the gaps you may not have filled with food. I used to get crazy cramps in my calves, I find they only reappear if I've fallen off the vitamin wagon.
  • While babies grow at different rates and it's impossible to really judge unless you are a doctor.. I will say that I am extremely saddened by obese children. Children are fed the food their parents' give them, and it makes me sad that you would give that child such a poor start in life. Many people gain weight as a part of…
  • I hate plus size models!! Why do they look so good?! I never looked that good when I was bigger
  • You just seemed super hostile to my very harmless post. But I totally agree with you.. those debates kill me.
  • I don't think it's trolling, and I don't think it's bad advice. All he is saying is that you don't need to eat clean to lose weight. Yes, it's a topic that is repeated over and over again. But if you think he is trolling, you don't know what that word means. And if you think it's bad advice, well to each their own. As he…
  • I was replying to minijuggernaut. That's why I quoted her.
  • If you hate the forums so much, why do you use them?
  • For all you "what about nutrition" folks worried that we aren't healthy.. you know you can have healthy ice cream, pizza, burgers. I personally eat processed foods occasionally so I'm not trying to be preachy to either group, but I nice homemade pizza or burger can be incredibly nutritious. Same goes for homemade ice…
  • Walking around isn't going to burn tons of calories. Unless you are keeping up a good pace and your heart rate stays elevated for periods of time.. but who walks around a festival like that? Just go have a nice day and be mindful of what you eat. Or if you really want some funnel cake or ice cream or deep fried twinkie (or…
  • When I read the title.. I was thinking "this will definitely be a cauliflower recipe". I looked hoping to be pleasantly surprised.. I was not.
  • When it comes to me buying, looks. It has to look REEALLLY good for me to buy it. I would pick a good looking cupcake I've never tasted over a cupcake that I know is yummy. ETA: That being said, if I've already tasted both and the ugly one tastes better.. then the ugly one it is.
  • Yes.. but so is Hersey's Special Dark.. it's only 42% cocoa. Meaning it's more confection than chocolate. I love dark chocolate, but the real stuff. Like 70% cocoa and more.
  • You don't actually need to refrigerate butter (unlike margarine). If you use it often, keep it on a butter dish (as long as it's in a cool place, because it can melt). I personally keep mine in the freezer because if it was just sitting on the counter looking back at me all delicious-like, I wouldn't be able to lose any…
  • You look great, but your face wasn't that "round and plump" to begin with. I feel it happens more to those who lose like 100lbs +.
  • I agree 100%. Someone losing 20lbs might actually look younger, healthier. It's the people who have always been 100lbs overweight who look older when they lose. But who cares? I would much rather look old and grow old than look young and die young.
  • Or a spa. I've been to one at a spa before, but you can guarantee that they'll be advertising it that way if it is.
  • I use the sauna at my gym after every workout (which is 5 days a week). I go in after my shower and, as long as the temperature is already at max heat (sometimes I'm the first one to use it so I need to remember to turn in on before my workout), I stay in there for 10 minutes. The length of time would depend on the…
  • Is it sad that my first thought was "well, are you?"? My boyfriend calls me skinny all the time and I always correct him. Nope, I'm not skinny, I'm still fat. I don't say that because I have bad self esteem. I say it because it's true, I am still overweight. Being told that I'm skinny when I'm overweight is probably how I…
  • Thanks for the response! I just recently started lifting and I really want to do more legs but I lift with my boyfriend who has rock hard legs and it's on the bottom of his priority list. I may have to go do my own thing.
  • My week is very similar except I do arms (bi's and tri's) on one day and legs are only one day. I do alternate abs like you. I also do 30 minutes of cardio before hand. I was just wondering, do you focus on one part of the leg (hams, quads, calves) or do you do a full set all the time?
  • Boxing is great too. You can get good cardio without using your lower body too much and it gets a lot of frustration out. Maybe purchase a speed bag or a heavy bag. They aren't super cheap, but it's a one time purchase (until you love it so much that it wears out and you need a new one!)
  • As mentioned in a previous post, I understand that there are some people who deal with binge-eating disorders. I am very sorry for those people, I understand it is a serious issue that should be dealt with. I was really only responding to the fact that you were saying that the word was overused. If it is used in fear and…
  • Oh, you are mistaken. I don't think my occasional indulging in excess food (i.e. binging) warrants any concern. At all. Please continue to live in your little bubble where dictionaries don't exist and every definition can only be taken in its most extreme form.
