  • Breakfast is a fruit and either cottage cheese or greek yogurt. Lunch I try to have a salad along the line of a chef salad to ensure a good bunch of vegetables and lean protein.
  • Ate breakfast! No workout today, it's a rest day.
  • I'm not a morning person either but I have found that it works much better for me if I can go to the gym in the early morning, it's also less crowded. I have found that if I go later in the morning or the early afternoon I want to eat more. Whereas in the early morning I only have water in my gut and eat when I get home.…
  • Congratulations!!!!! I too visit the success stories often, it is very encouraging, and you've encouraged me:) Thank you for sharing your story.
  • Rats! I don't have a HRM and have been counting the calories burned from the machine readout. I generally try to burn about 825-850 a day. I eat some of my calories back but not even close to what I burn. I'd like to know if others have had the same experience.
  • Congratulations!!! Pictures really do tell the story....thanks for posting yours.
  • I do about 2 hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week. Saturday is a rest day and Sunday is an hour Zumba class. I do eat back some of my exercise calories - depends on how I feel, some days I want more calories. This is my 5th week of working out in a gym and my 3rd week on mfp. The only thing I don't like about working out is…
  • Not quite there yet but it will be soon! I share the same goal, fit and in the best of health for the rest of my life.
  • Thank you for the wonderful ideas. I will be stretching, icing, and hanging off the stairs. My DIL and I work out together and take Saturday off and attend a Zumba class on Sunday before we begin our workout Monday morning. I am hoping that a couple of days off will also help.
  • I will try the stretching and frozen water bottle. (It's colder than all get out in the north country so a frozen water bottle makes my teeth want to chatter!) Thank you everyone for your ideas and suggestions.
  • I do wear custom orthotics in my shoes and they and my shoes fit well. I'd rather it was caused by something as easy as a different pair of shoes!
  • This is the time to remember it's a journey and you're taking a little side trip. Life happens and you have to give yourself permission to take some time off. The important thing is to resume your workouts after you get through your weekend. Enjoy your weekend!
  • What helps me get by butt out of bed at 5:30 am is my DIL coming down the stairs to go with me to work out. My clothes are laid out the night before. Ear buds, door key, car keys, water, and coat are on the table and shoes are by the door. I am not a morning person either, especially at that time of the morning but we are…
  • I was wondering the same thing....glad you asked.

  • We are fortunate to have a small gym located in the country not far from home. So along with supporting a small local business it is wonderful to go and work out without distractions of small grandchildren and other things related to home.
  • I am so glad to hear there is someone else in the world besides me, who even though there is a definate lack of rhythm, is at Zumba! 3rd class last night and it is getting to be more and more fun.
