Don't give up.

Yup! After an 85 pound weight loss that occurred close to Christmas I have been freezing. I live in a northern state so it's generally April/May before it's warm outside. Love my electric blanket, cuddle duds, and a jetted bath tub filled with hot water.

I would have to say buying new clothes. Sales at my favorite stores, occasional Goodwill find, and ThredUp have been the way I have purchased most of them. Seldom paying full price. Living in a 4 season climate means having to purchase more for spring and summer - oh darn!

I am a little older than the age group you are targeting, I am 62. However, I am at the lowest weight I have ever been in my adult life. I am 5'4" and weigh between 117-119. I started at 201. I think I last weighed that in junior high. So yes, it is possible no matter what your age.

Thanks rybo -- I wish Vibram would put a thick enough bottom on their shoes to make it possible to run on any surface. I love the way my toes splay out in these shoes, it makes me feel more secure when hitting the pavement.

Thank for the advice - will check on these brands.

Thanks ashorey87 for posting that particular problem. My are so "indented" I almost have to go in sideways instead of up and down. Who knew?!?!

I ran into a former co-worker who had not seen me while I was losing weight, she looked me up and down. Then sat down beside me and said, "You're not sick are you?" I told her that I was fine. But what I should have said was, "Yes, sick of being fat!"

Well, so far there are 3 of us:)

Hey, I think anything is possible! We're older and in my case, saggier, after an 82 pound loss. I am now at the gym 6 out of 7 days. I am going to do some work with a personal trainer because this weight lifting thing sounds like something I really need to do - even with a neck that gets cranky and a knee that complains. I…

Having to find a store that sold size 2 clothing. The 4's were hanging off of me.

Congratulations! What a fun story to read!

I'm not but I have a sister who has dispatched for decades! After she was dx with diabetes she discontinued most of the 3rd shift (which she preferred) and was able to go to days or a day/evening combination. This schedule allowed her to walk and plan the meals to balance her blood sugar and along with a lot of…

No small feat in my book!!! It took me a couple of weeks of hard work to be able to do push ups. Not much strength in my arms but getting better. Keep up the good work! And no, it's not a small thing.

I don't have an injury so I can't commiserate on that point. I can on the slow weight loss. What impresses me is that you have continued on with your journey while waiting for your injury to heal. I would say you've got it, it's a life style change no matter what is happening in your life. Congratulations on your progress.

One thing I've had to do to accommodate the hip to waist ratio was to put two tucks, like a dart, at the waist. Not sure if this is helpful for your situation or not.

Awesome Job!! Thanks for sharing your success story.

The first time I walked in to take a look around I was very nervous but decided I didn't want to break my neck walking on icy streets so it was my only option. The second time I walked in, just to use the treadmill, I was so nervous I almost went back to the car and headed home. Now, I walk in and LOVE it. No one cares…

Congratulations on your awesome accomplishments!!!!!

Move some of your protein to the first half of the day. If I start my day with only carbs, well the carb monster rears its ugly head, and it's a very difficult day. Protein helps to keep me full.

I'm in - first challenge on MFP. Sorry to say that it's Binge - 1, scjl132 - 0 beginning today.

Up at 5:30 am and at the gym by 5:55. I work very part time and could go later in the day but I like the fact that there are fewer people at the gym that early in the morning. I can get my 90-120 minutes of cardio in without much disruption in the routine I like because I seldom have to wait for a machine. I am usually in…

I don't drink a lot of soda now but I used to down about 4 diet sodas a day. (Now, I'll have a regular soda). I began cutting down 1 can for a week and the next week cut down another can. I don't like the headaches, lethargy, and fatigue from going cold turkey. Rather cut back slowly. I found that the more water I drank…
