<<<Profile pic is 4 months in. I was planning on doing a 6 month bulk, but I feel that stopping at 5 months (end of August) will be for the best. I'm getting too sloppy with my diet and it's slowly transitioning into a dirty bulk. Which leaves me with 3.5 weeks then I will begin losing the fat I put on during the bulk!…

It has, but I don't believe it's because I lost weight. Logging my food every day for the past 3 years (exactly 3 years to this day, actually!), has helped me identify which foods bother me so I can eliminate them from my diet. Another big help, I feel, is a balanced macronutrient ratio... which I can obtain through…

Just noticed this was bumped again. Thank you everyone! I'm also glad that my success continues to inspire others, it's one of the coolest things about all of this! :)

Any time I changed my diet or workout routine in any way I retained water. If you know you didn't eat 3,500 calories over maintenance to gain that lb, there's nothing to worry about because it is indeed just water. I had many ups and down throughout the way, it's extremely common. Wait it out and it will come off!

Based on your weight I would try to get 100g of protein. Which is about .85g per LB of body weight. .4-.5g per LB of body weight for fat... so 48g sounds good. Then the rest of your calories should be from carbs. 100g p = 400 calories 48g f = 432 calories If 1,472 calories is your goal, that means you should then get about…

It's been a month since I've posted this, which also means I'm a month into my bulk! Some might think its easier to just eat more, but there is such a mental battle to trust the numbers and the plan. And I think even moreso for those who lost a lot... no one wants to go back to that, or at least feel like they're headed in…

Thank you everyone!

Ya thanks man! Glad I started strength training so early on, it helped me in so many ways.

I'm 2 weeks in to my first bulk and I'm not sure what's right for me yet. I've been getting around 3,500 on lifting days and 2,400 on rest days. My TDEE is about 3,050 on lifting days by my best guesstimate. The numbers say I should've gained a lb so far, the scale seems to agree thus far. But I feel fat as hell now every…

The beginning I ate moderation, basically whatever I had before just fitting my calories this time. Eventually I started eating salads, lean meat, pasta, rice, oils, nuts etc. Not because I thought they were healthy, but because foods like that made it easier for me to hit my macros. I enjoy the taste of food, but now food…

Thank you everyone! If I am, I'm completely oblivious to it! But I don't believe it adds anything extra than before. The fear before was that tons of people were looking and judging, maybe they were maybe they weren't. However, my mindset now is that I'm an average guy in the crowd, mentally I tell myself there's no reason…

Really impressive! Great job!

This should work.

My biggest regret was not having half decent before pics. If anyone is just starting out, don't be afraid to take good before pics and measurements! You will be glad you did later.

First thing, usually an hour after waking up! I've found that my burns later in the day suck compared to those in the AM.

Anything by the band ISSUES. King of Amarillo or The Langdon House, to narrow it down some.

Addressing the water weight you added (not any potential fat thavoice did that^^^), it should drop after about 3-4 days. As long as your diet and workouts are consistent.

I'm happy to hear that! Losing weight and adding bulk is all a matter of surplus and deficit (with the obvious strength training included). I recommend strength training as soon as possible. You want to promote fat loss, not just weight loss. I alternated my cardio and strength training days. If you can't do strength…

I got down to 165 in December '12, then I gained 10-15lbs after I started dating my GF. I've been maintaining 170-180 since about January '13.

Unfortunately it'll never go away! But everything I can do to control it, I'm doing. Logging my food daily for 3 years has been a big help in identifying foods that bother me, before I just ate whatever I wanted and had no idea the culprit. I found that milk bothers me, I wouldn't say lactose intolerant (or maybe? I don't…

Thank you everyone!

Thank you Andeey!

It's still an issue, but with the help of my girlfriend I've been getting better with time. Being in a corner store with just 3 people would freak me out, I'm talking severe sweating and jitters. Eventually I could handle that, then a store like Walmart, and now I could probably go to the mall on a Sunday without a…

Ha! It's just an aquarium (I guess?) for frogs. I only have before pictures from holidays and such and it was a gift.

Now, I just eat maintenance calories and still log. However when I was still considered morbidly obese, my off days were cheat days. It only worked on a week-to-week basis because my calories the other days were low enough. Both were sustainable. However, I never really plateaued like most people so maybe I'm not the right…

My girlfriend and I have pretty much the same back-and-forth, OP. Any interactions I have with any one nice in public, I feel is them just being nice. I guess I'd feel like an *kitten* internally if I assumed every girl who was being nice to me was hitting on me. So I just assume none of them are, and are in fact just…

If you could make your diary public, it will give everyone a little bit more info as to what you're eating and how much. Also why very little carbs, and how little? If you're not intentionally doing low carb (low enough to get you in ketosis) I don't see the benefit. Finding a nice balance of macronutrients should help you…
