@amyrebeccah Thanks for the great suggestion!

I have tried that before, but I always end up with guac leftover. I guess I could do as @DeguelloTex suggests and use a spoon. That takes so much effort, but it might just work.

Another Southerner here. Yum - fried chicken! Here are a few faves: Apricot Chicken: chicken breasts, onion, garlic, sugar free apricot preserves and apple cider vinegar. Sauté the chicken mostly through in a little olive oil, then add the other stuff. Makes a great sauce. I like to pour it over couscous. Stuffed…

I just went on a 'rampage' on my personal newsfeed about experiencing a plateau (without actually saying that icky word). I was looking up other info and came across this thread. Now, I feel like an uninformed brat. Thanks for the info, OP! Now, to apologize to my 'friends' who had to endure that rant... :hushed:

BBQ chicken pizza with onions. I'm addicted to the Trader Joe's BBQ garlic sauce with sriatchha sauce.

Good points. I really-read my post. Left out that most of my recipes are more sweet & sour / general tso's type of coated chicken. He doesn't like Hunan-style type of food. I hadn't even considered a possible carb option for crab Rangoon. That would be awesome if you could share links or recipes of other ideas. Thanks!

I don't need a low carb rice substitute. Maybe I wasn't clear, I'm looking a low carb chicken recipe with Chinese flavor.

You said it best, you can say no. If they offer food at 9, then eat your breakfast before then so that you aren't hungry. There really is no way to tell how many calories is in something. If you are tempted, maybe strike up a conversation with the person that made it and ask how they made it or if it has 'x' ingredient. It…

+1 According to the information you provided + your profile, I entered your information and here are your results: http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/#results It says you should be eating 1704 cals/day BUT this is for a 26.9kg/year rate. I hope that helps!

^^This. Ophthalmologists can see lots of things...cholesterol, liver, renal issues. It's pretty cool!

Based on the information you provided in your post + your profile (and I'm assuming you are a female), I've entered your results here: http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/#results If you want to lose 1lb/week, you should be eating 1280 calories (I put you as 137lbs). That's the minimum you should eat.…

I'm already in but I don't think I put my stats up (apparently, I'm not good at following directions): CW: 190 GWL for this challenge: 1lb/week = 8 lbs GW: 182 Good luck, everyone!!

Hi there! If you click on others' user name, and their diary is public, you can view it. My diary is public (to hold myself accountable). Feel free to take a look. Good luck to you!

You're right - 130/84 "isn't crazy scary" but you should pay attention to it. Recently, an article was published that didn't show a statistically significant association between sodium and high BP. There is a contradictory article from the CDC; it shows there is a correlation. If you are concerned about the salt intake, be…

^^This. Just rinse or let it soak right after you finish. It makes clean up a lot easier.

Mine is open (just recently). Feel free to add me. I'm not perfect and don't claim to be, but it's a way to keep me more accountable. As a side note: I used to keep my diary private (only for friends). I did it mostly because I was embarrassed when I ate crap and drank too much. I'm over it now. I also did it because I…

^^This. I use it in several recipes - one of which is with chicken, apricot preserves and honey. Yum!

Try eating breakfast before you go to work that has lots of protein (eggs, protein shake, etc.). For lunch: Can you make your own sandwich or wrap (at home)? Try bring in some apple slices or string cheese; that way you can just grab a bite and go again. Maybe also grab a protein bar to help sustain you through the busiest…

You can have anything - as long as you stay within your calorie goal. No food is essentially off limits. Are you logging your food? If not, log it - accurately. Then you'll be able to determine if you are "going the right way". Good luck!

Great post. Great story. Like someone else said, we all could have written this...because it has happened to all of us at some point. It happened to me last week. I'm a 'chips' person. I'm taking baby steps...with that binge, at least I had the foresight to weigh & log it. All the while saying, I'm full. I don't need this.…

Motivation and support are great, but they will not carry you to the gym, dictate how many calories to eat, or log said calories for you. It takes willpower, determination, and patience. It took me a long time to figure that out and until you do, you'll continue yo-yo'ing. As for all of the background info, it sounds like…

Here is a link to a compilation of 'just getting started' type of threads. It has about 25 links (including a beginner's guide to bulking: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10049766/bulking-a-complete-guide-for-beginners Here are the direct links:…

+1 And, yes, to answer your question, I've done it before. I'm sure I'll do it again. I'm learning that if it's in my calorie allotment, I'm not going to stress over it too much. Restricting anything from your diet will eventually lead to a binge of some sort (in my humble opinion).

On the weekends, we tend to have bigger breakfasts. I usually start getting hungry around ~2-3pm. This is inconvenient for me because that's when I am doing chores or running errands. Like others have said, I think it's just personal preference. Try it and see if it works for you. As long as you do not go over your…
