^^This. You can also use sharp cheddar cheese as well. Mix it up. I sprinkle garlic powder or a little Italian seasoning on them. Then you can dip them in salsa (pico de gallo is my fave). Also like pepperoni crisps - nuke in a microwave ~1 min; crispy and you can dip them in whatever as well (hummus, salsa, etc.) Pimento…

I think my lack of moving has caused my weight gain. I tend to skip breaks and just eat at my desk. I'm trying to set specific goals for the week; I will go outside on two breaks and walk; I will use one lunch break to walk, etc. When I apply CICO, no matter how much stress I endure, I lose. The problem for me is…

I sauté it. I also cut up 1/2 onion and mix it with the slaw. Use just a little olive oil, season it with garlic powder, pepper and crushed red pepper flakes as well. When it's almost done, I splash it with just a little soy sauce at the end. Yummy!

I guess I asked the question because I was hoping to gain insight on your experience here. Thinking perhaps that would trigger me to take a deeper look on if I do those things or not. And if I do those things, why and how to change them to be successful. I agree with you. I think I do have a lack of commitment, but with a…

Thank you. I consider myself an emotionally stable person. Never really considered eating as an emotional issue. Perhaps it is the way I deal with stress. I hold myself accountable for my actions. I'm not into fad diets (although eating less simple carbs seem to help me lose weight faster), I don't buy into the magical…

Thank you. This is quite insightful. I appreciate you sharing your story. I guess I feel somewhat in that same place.

Awesome job! Thanks for sharing your progress!!

Hi there! I value your opinion and am appreciative of you and your helpfulness. Thank you for your response. It seems to be in line with the majority of what others are saying as well. Here's to hoping logging becomes as mindless as watching trash tv for me!! I hope you are doing well. I'm always glad to see posts from…

Yep. Just read your response after I replied to Carol.

I stopped making excuses and started being accountable about 3 do-overs ago. I like food and drink. No matter how you slice it, I enjoy eating and drinking. It tastes good. It comforts me. It it makes me happy. Then, it makes me aggravated and feel like a failure once I'm stuffed and tired. It's like an instant…

1-7 - great ideas!!!!!!

I have read this, also. It makes me wonder that those that have been successful, if they followed this. [quote="The less mental /emotional energy it takes up, and the more mindlessly we can do it, the easier it is to persist. Hence why so many people can sit motionless in front of the tv for hours on end, watching trashy…

Very true!! You raise very good points. Excuse after excuse or use the ol' find someone (or something) else to blame for your own shortcomings. Thank you. That's helpful.
-
Agreed. First one is definitely spot on. The second example seems to the same...especially since a lot of others have said something similar. Thank you.

I understand that. I've been reading what helps others to 'stay on track' or lose. The 'tips' have been partially eye opening and partially the same old thing I've heard before. Just made me question if what I've been reading has any truth to it.
-
I haven't read that research, but I can see how it can be truth for some. Thanks for sharing.
-
No, not really. I haven't really come to some sort of epiphany. Just curious for you all that have been on MFP for so long that dedicated your time and energy to so many others, if there are particular signs you see.

Good points. Thank you.

Because I eat and drink more calories than I should on a routine basis. Now, it's your turn. Didn't your mom ever tell you it's not nice to ask a question with a question?

Awesome work! And it looks like you have put in a lot of work, working out. Adding you.
-
Same story. Adding you.

Love it! I'm 5'3"; can't believe I'm almost the tallest in the room *post*. :)

Hi there!, I don't log salt/pepper and spices. That's pretty much it. I log my diet sodas because there are micronutrients involved. Otherwise, I log everything else....especially powdered sugar free creamer, ketchup packets, and everything in between. Even a tomato slice has 5 calories. I've had days where that could take…

^No, you aren't. The only thing I can think of isn't a particular food per se. Keeping it PG: 1. After we go out for Mexican, it doesn't happen - but that's because we are so full and bloated! 2. If you have a same sex partner / SO: I'd imagine #1 would also apply or garlic, onions, & asparagus?

I know the stressors of NS! If losing 15lbs is important to you, you will find time. Not to sound harsh (because I hate those kind of replies to my questions on the forums), but you found time to look up/investigate MFP and post on a forum. That could have been 15-30 minutes, maybe more, depending on how much time you…

I weigh every other day, but only log once weekly - unless there is a gain. I've stopped logging my weight on MFP as a gain (it's psychological). After a lot of reading on our forums, I will take measurements monthly. This weekend, in fact. Not really looking forward to it since I haven't lost much weight or exercised…

Thank you. This is a great way to express my thoughts and feelings! Excellent post! Congratulations to you for the weight loss and good luck as you continue to lose. Best wishes!!
