I really disagree about the pulp. You don't want the pulp. It's not a smoothie fast, it's a juice fast.

I did level 1 quite a few times and never got to the point where I could do all of it. Never felt it get easier either. But that's just me!

Someone above makes a good point-- start out with an easily manageable weight while you learn good form and various swings. Work up to heavier.

At your age and weight, you may lose pounds very quickly at 1200 cals. per day. You could certainly start at a high amount and adjust it down as you lose.

I'm not gonna disagree about the value of lifting but if your gf only picks up 5 lb weights now, she is not suddenly going to be ABLE to pick up 50 pounds just because you tell her she should do it. She'll have to work up to it and gain strength. You want to challenge your muscles, yes, but don't injure yourself.

I think there could be a safety issue too, like suppose there were many 300+ lb passengers getting on the same flight and the plane is rated for X number of people at an average weight of X.

Folks, buy yourself a grinder. It's a great investment. You can get a hand grinder or an add-on to a KitchenAid mixer (what I have). There's a lot to choose from. I've done level 1 a bunch and no, Jillian keeps saying throughout "There's no modified version of this!" She's a sadist. Of course she can't see you. you CAN do your own modifications.

This "problem" has been addressed in many, many threads that you can easily search for. Short answer, eat more. At some point you knew how to get to 1200 calories and even higher, right?
